Introduction: We stand out, as a husband and wife team, in our abilities to manage both my career as an avid jazz and contemporary (improvisational) violinist, as well as our passion for bringing classical, pop and world music to our community. We book weddings, private & corporate events, house parties, cocktail hours, numerous bands and groups. I perform as a violinist and vocalist with backing tracks for events, and frequently perform concerts, festivals and at restaurants throughout the Northeast United States as a soloist, as well as with my bands and side-projects. These include Rogue Chimp, Gypsy Jazz Quintet, Electric City Swing, Jami Novak's Inner Space Project, the Jazz Art Group, and many others. I perform also throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania at local hospitals, veterans centers and senior community homes, where I perform as a soloist, as well with one of my many duos; Handpan & Violin, Violin/Vocals and Accordion, Louis Cossa (rock, pop as standards on guitar, keyboards, vocals and violin and many others. I have connections with musicians in the greater New York & Philadelphia areas, and can book world-class artists for specialty events. Aside from performing, I occasionally take on new students, and I specialize in teaching 5-string electric violin. To me, the most important aspect in becoming a complete musician is to integrate both the mental aspects, the theoretical and technical knowledge with the body mechanics. Music, in its purest and most powerful state, is played quite simply; from the heart. This is Best achieved through an integration of learning the fundamentals of classical Music through the most beautiful repertoire, through listening, learning how to play what one hears, by ear, and learning how to connect the heart with the mind. My violin technique is an integration of studying yoga and tai chi, and I've developed many unique ways that ultimately save many years of practicing and which have prevented me from suffering from the common setbacks and injuries that many violinists and instrumentalists encounter in their path towards becoming proficient at their instrument. I've also performed thousands of times in a wide variety of settings and styles. I'm grateful to say that I've been blessed with over 30 years worth of performance experience! I have studied violin at the Eastman School of Music, and was their first Jazz violin major in the school's history. I've been afforded the opportunity to study with some of the greatest violin masters, as well as with many acclaimed Jazzmasters, throughout my life. I've also studied and developed psychological and technical techniques and practice methods that have benefited my students in becoming more proficient at their instruments, as well as more relaxed, flexible and confident in their abilities to perform for audiences.
I take great pride in my versatility and professionalism as a multi-genre violinist. I'm also a multi-instrumentalist, session musician, producer, master of improvisation, arranger of popular music for weddings for soloists, string duos, trios and quarters, a composer of ambient, progressive and healing acoustic and electronic music, and a clinician and expert in jazz and contemporary violin and viola instruction. I also teach improvisation to intermediate and advanced level musicians who have classical training and in interest to expand their horizons. Exceptions to this are occasionally made to young musicians of exceptional talent. Please contact for inquiries and bookings/rates. Thanks for your interest in our unique services.
