My initial impression was a five-star review. We got a quick response, and quick (next morning) arrival. He did the job relatively cleanly, had a great demeanor, and got the door replaced quickly.
However.
He quoted us $60/hr for the install, which was perfect. He showed up, and was done in about three hours. Then asked for $370. I tried to tactfully remind him he'd quoted us less than half that, but he kept reiterating the higher amount. I paid it, but only because he'd promised to return to haul away the old rotten door and broken framing, and to replace a piece below the door that he'd ripped out. He never responded to my calls, my messages, or my texts. He had also expressed interest in rebuilding our backyard fence, which is why I was hesitant to sour the relationship.
I don't know why he decided to ghost us like that, but I'm super disappointed.

Sterling Carpentry came in the very next day and did a plumbing job for me - moving pipes and installing a new shower valve. I was really impressed and he does electrical too! Will definitely be working with him again.
