Introduction: As a nature lover and photographer, you want to maximize both your time in nature and your chances of creating meaningful images. Whether you want to learn how to location scout and predict desirable weather, better understand composition, or improve your post-processing skills, I can help. I have spent years hiking, climbing and photographing the beautiful landscapes across the Pacific Northwest and enjoy guiding and coaching other emerging photographers. In that time, I've learned what locations work, how to shoot them and when to go. While I shoot primarily for my own creative release, I also license and sell fine art prints. Helping others learn, practice and hone their landscape photography skills is a great joy.

James is an excellent photographer. The images that he creates are beautiful so I was inspired to take his workshop. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Reach out and tell me what option you are considering and when and where you would like. I will respond with a worksheet for you to fill out that will make sure that we make the most of our time together. I will customize the trip and instruction to your individual needs and abilities. We can then communicate via phone or email to schedule our online or in-field workshop.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been photographing in one way or the other for the past 13 years. I have spent thousands of hours (and dollars) taking workshops and formal and informal training to improve my work. I am an American Photographic Artists: APA National Pro, as well as a Nikon Pro.
