I use the Wilson Reading System to explicitly teach phonics. Because I primarily teach students with learning disabilities, I have developed my own method of font/text presentation to help students "see" the code embedded within a word. Interestingly, I have discovered that my method serves in much the same way training wheels work on a bike; my students rely on it for a short while and then can access "regular" text without help.
