Introduction: StarCon General Contractors has been building and renovating homes, as well as building and improving commercial properties since 1993. We specialize in custom designs which call for creativity and attention to detail. StarCon maintains constant communication with the architect and the property owner to help foresee problems before they occur. This also helps to insure a beautiful finished product completed on time and within budget. StarCon does much of the construction with their own employees. The remaining items are subcontracted. We have a strong group of subcontractors, all of whom have been working with us for many years. Because of StarCon's long relationship with its subcontractors, we receive a high level of quality and performance. All of our subcontractors are required to have Worker's Compensation insurance (as required by law) and General Liability insurance. StarCon carries both Worker's Compensation and General Liability insurance as well, with a minimum of $2,000,000 of coverage. StarCon also offers complete design and architectural services. We work closely with our architects and designers during the design and drawing phases to assure an accurate plan, and to keep construction costs in line with budget requirements. StarCon's attention to detail, organizational skills, and creativity, are what have helped make us the successful company that we is today. No detail is too small. The president of the company, Steven Margolis, has 30 years experience in the construction industry. His first five years were spent running and coordinating hotel additions and renovations for the company who owned Ramada and Howard Johnson hotel chains, and many Sheraton and Marriott hotels. This experience covered twenty-four cities and eight states. He then came back to Los Angeles to start StarCon.
