Spanish Immersion Club
Introduction: I'm Abril native Spanish speaker from Bogota, Colombia. When I came to the United States, I did not speak any english, and the only way I had to learn was with the interaction with real people every day having conversation with roommates, co-workers, etc. This is the most helpful way to learn a new language. The real need is to communicate and express yourself .
I'm offering conversational classes with all kinds of activities where you will understand concepts learn vocabulary and get more motivate to talk in Spanish.
I will speak with you in Spanish for the whole class. We will have fun activities, reading, writing, music, latin culture, etc. I'm offering a special trial first class at half price, then you can pick a package of classes with a special price. Group classes are available too.
Im enjoy speak in Spanish, teaching and explaining concept of Spanish culture.

I've been in and out of Mexico quite a few times in my life but it wasn't until I went to Colombia, last year, that I fell in love with the language. I wanted to learn it so I started looking for a good Spanish mentor in Tucson. I was looking for someone that spoke the language fluently and grew up in a Spanish speaking country. This for two reasons, firstly I wanted to learn the words with their original pronunciation, secondly, I wanted to hear the background, learn about the culture and hear the first hand experience of growing up in that country.
When I found Abril, I couldn't believe it. As a plus she is an enthusiast photographer, which has been one of my hobbies since before I can remember.
Abril was an easy choice. Being Colombian, she is not only proficient in Spanish but can show you subtle differences amongst Spanish spoken in various South American countries.
Her approach was new to me. She strongly discouraged me from speaking English during the class, which at first was a little discomforting. I felt like I was learning how to swim by being thrown in a pool with no floaties. However coach Abril was ready to jump in with me and show me the correct strokes.
Abril encouraged me to pick the topic of the day and between my passion for paragliding and volleyball, her passion for photography and her exposure to the Latin culture we had a lot of interesting things to talk about.
I've only done less than 20 hours with April and I feel that my Spanish improved immensely.

Great native speaker who has many unique ways to assist in speaking Spanish conversationally. Only issue that could be improved was possibly providing handouts and worksheets to help one understand more advanced grammar concepts.

Abril is an excellent Spanish teacher! She speaks very slowly and uses pictures or hand gestures to help you understand instead of just explaining in English which I think really helps with the immersion. The lessons are very appropriate and help you get comfortable before moving on. I highly recommend her!
