FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I read the information initially provided. While I can get the basic idea of the client's needs, experience has taught me that the first session is the best barometer for accessing what is a realistic start. If we agree that additional sessions will be advantageous to make specific progress within a limited time, then I will adjust my hourly fee to accommodate that change/increase. I am open to discussing fees in person to give you a more detailed understanding of my pricing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each client comes with different needs and expectations. At the first session, I like to talk with my client to discuss their specific goals. At that time, I can determine the level at which they are currently performing and in that conversation, I can lay out some of my ideas/methods for getting started on the process. Depending upon the specific area, we can establish an initial plan of action. That plan can and will be adjusted based upon the progress. Of course, this applies to continuing sessions only. The process varies depending upon whether it is acting, public speaking, accent reduction or conversational English for non-natives. Again, at the first session, I will spend time (without charge, of course) to discuss and answer any questions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.F.A. in Theater Arts and Communication. After college, I lived in NYC where I worked in commercials, print, films and theater. I studied with the famous Uta Hagen, Warren Robertson (who also directed me in a play) and Larry Moss. After meeting the director, Adrian Lyne, I came to Los Angeles to star in his first feature film with Jodie Foster. In LA, I studied again with Larry Moss and took comedy and improvisational training at the Groundlings and The Harvey Lembeck Studios. I have written and sold scripts, worked as an actor, producer, creative development executive for feature films and television, and theater director. I've been on both sides of the camera and stage, on set, in casting sessions, hiring crews, etc. Over the years, I extended my coaching to public speaking, working with business executives. My years in this industry in different jobs and areas have been a tremendous benefit to my skills. While working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, I started coaching (actors, business execs, and people who just wanted to be understood) for accent reduction and conversational English. Coming from a multi-lingual household and environment, coupled with theater and communication experience, I found that I was able to expand my coaching into a broader arena.
