FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a base pricing system that I use to estimate projects. I have a full day rate for shoots and an hourly rate. Full day is $800 for an 8 hour day then $100/hr after 8 hours. Half day rate is $500 for 4 Hours, then $100/hr. My hourly rate is $300 for the first 2 hours, then $100/hr each hour after that. Editing and post production are charged at $50/hr. Any pre-production work, such as location scouting, scripting or production planning is charged at $25/hr.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we start with a meeting, over the phone or in person, in which we discuss the customer's requests and visions for their project. I answer any questions they have about the project or my work, then we discuss project time-frame and pricing and work out a contract and deposit.. After that we move forward with the shoot. If editing is involved, once I get a rough copy done I will share it with my client and try to take any suggestions from them if they see anything they'd like different. Once a final is done and they receive a copy the balance is paid by the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most of my training just comes from being behind the camera for over 10 years.
