Introduction: Hello! I am a singer/songwriter voice coach in the Town and Country area. I teach voice, piano (for singer/songwriters), and songwriting. I customize my lessons depending on the goals of each student. In addition to piano and songwriting my students also have the opportunity to record and create youtube videos in the studio. I would be happy to discuss your goals with you so we can come up with a plan that works for you! My studio is near I-10 and Beltway 8. Ages 8 and Up (I take younger students on a case by case basis) VOICE COACHING I teach the "Singing with Ease of Speech" technique, also known as "Speech Level Singing". This method focuses on eliminating the break between your low voice and high voice by mixing the registers. Learning this technique allows one to sing comfortably throughout their range without any discomfort--meaning singing should create no more discomfort than speaking does. This technique can be applied to any genre. I will also work with you on pitch, power, styling, and increasing your range. PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT FOR SINGERS & SINGER/SONGWRITERS Learning to accompany your singing with playing gives a very powerful advantage to the singer/songwriter. It opens the door for you to be able to perform independently, gives you the tools to be able to communicate with other musicians, and facilitates songwriting by giving you an understanding of how to build a song with chords. Piano accompaniment lessons can be taken in addition to voice lessons or we can make them a part of your customized learning plan. These lessons would focus on understanding chords and beginning piano improvisation to accompany your singing. SONGWRITING Ready to write your own songs? Let's do it! Songwriting is something else we can mix into your learning plan. Being able to play an instrument is not necessary to begin learning to write--but when the time comes we will work on learning to do that. My songwriting students learn many methods to jump start and refine lyric writing and melody creating. We will start with games to get the juices flowing and eventually get into building up your songwriting "tool box".
