FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I(Steve) was fascinated with computers since I was small child. Computers became a hobby of mine back in the 70's. As I pursued this hobby, I learned all about computers. Meanwhile the rest of the world was also learning the benefits of computers and their use exploded with use of the Internet. The skills I had learned were all of the sudden in great demand and I started doing small jobs for my coworkers and friends. They referred me to their friends and I began to realize I could make a living with my hobby. I obtained certifications to prove I had the knowledge and started working as a computer technician full time. I eventually hired Amanda who is one of the smartest computer technicians I know. The two of us can handle any of your computer needs.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Malware and virus removal. Hard drive replacement with data recovery. Speeding up slow PCs.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
There are two types of hard drives, those that are going to fail and those that have failed. We pride ourselves in our ability to recover the entire failed hard drive to a new hard drive so everything works just like it did before. Most shops aren't even going to attempt this. They will simply install Windows on the new hard drive and copy data from the old drive if it's readable. The PC then has to have all of the software installed, email setup, printer installed and it's still not the same as it was before. We save our customers a lot of grief by keeping their existing installation. We recently did this for a customer and it was quite a challenge but she was very happy. The best part is we never charge more than $99 labor for this.
