FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before arriving I like my students to pick out 3 songs they would like to perfect. I then listen and study the songs until I know I can teach them. I teach you about your amazing vocal instrument and proper ways to breath and warm up your chords. Then figure out your range (low to high) to make sure the songs you picked need to have a key change. We then get started on perfecting your songs. I bring along my keyboard, microphone and speaker.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been singing since I came out of the womb. I began singing in the band at church and was mentored by a worldly singing pro. I started writing songs and going into the studio to record. I have always had such a love for singing, and went to school to become a child psychologist . I quickly realized that I can take the skills I learned in school and all my singing experience and marry the two. I love singing and adore children.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Credentials alone is not the only thing you want to look at while looking to find a great coach. Find out if they have been a paid musician in a band. Look to see if your coach has ever been in lead musical roles. Make sure they are encouraging, not discouraging. It's hard until you meet them, but after a few visits you can tell if they are in it for the cash or to truly want to help shape and mold your voice.
