Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have graduated with highest honors from the Randy Potter School of Piano Technology. I went through an extensive training program at Montana State University School of Music and then received further hands-on training at the Cunningham Piano Factory and Restoration Center in Philadelphia. I'm also an associate member of the Piano Technician's Guild. I love the reaction from my clients when they play their newly-tuned piano for the first time. Especially if the piano hasn't been serviced in years. The difference can be drastic. It is by far the most satisfying moment of any tuning appointment.

Piano Tuning

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

As a member of the Piano Technician's Guild, I attend chapter meetings once a month where technical demonstrations are presented. These demonstrations are designed to provide instruction on the latest and most effective techniques for tuning, repairing, and regulating pianos.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always check the qualifications of whoever is servicing your piano. No certification is required to work on pianos, so be cautious. It's usually safest to hire a member of the Piano Technician's Guild. Make sure you ask the person you are considering for hire if he/she is a member.
