- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I come from a family of florists, so this was a natural evolution for me. Although I've also been a retail manager for many years, I always return to my florist roots because it's really what I love doing!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I've owned three different floral shops over the years and done the full gamut of floral design, from everyday floral for any occasion to full on event decorating; bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, altar pieces, reception flowers, etc. I provide delivery and set-up with every wedding or event, as well.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Gather together all of your information before asking for a quote. For example, is there a specific bouquet style you are looking for (round, hand tied, cascading, etc.). Do you want it to be small or large? Do you want your bridesmaids to carry a simple clutch of stems or an actual bouquet? When you say you want corsages, do you want wrist or shoulder corsages? What types of flowers do you want to use; you may want a specific flower included but is that the only flower you want used or will there be a mixture? All of these things will affect the overall price of the event flowers, and should be detailed in order to get an accurate quote.
