FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer both private treatments at a fixed rate, as well as sliding scale community acupuncture for musicians and those on tighter budgets. The initial private appointment lasts 1.5 hours. The fee is $125. Follow-up visits last about 1 hour, with a fee of $75. The sliding scale for my community acupuncture services ranges from $20 - $70 for the initial visit, an $20 - $50 for follow-up visits. Please see the "Clinic" page of my website for complete sliding scale details. Sometimes herbal therapy is an important component of helping people feel better. When that is the case we'll discuss options. An average herbal formula costs $25 -$30 for a 7 to 14 day supply. *Rates are current as of Sept. 2015, but are subject to change.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During our initial appointment we will talk in depth about the health issue you are having. We will also discuss your medical history. Chinese diagnostics such as tongue and pulse reading will round out my understanding of your overall health and help set the course for treatment. This holistic approach ensures that we treat the problem you are having, but also treat underlying imbalances that may be contributing to it.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my 4-year Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2000, from one of the most respected schools in the U.S., the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. I have been in practice in Hayes Valley, San Francisco since 2000, and also have an office in the North Bay. Since the year 2000 I've treated thousands of patients, and continue to upgrade my skills and knowledge through continuing education seminars. I am also a former faculty member at my alma mater, as well as the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley. I loved teaching but after 12 years of doing it I decided to focus on my clinical practice.
