FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I accept payment in monthly, 2-month, and 4-month session payments, with discounts applied to 2 and 4 month session purchases. Please contact me to find out more about my rates and payment policies!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson with a new client will typically consist of assessing a student’s level of musical experience, discussing student goals and preferred learning styles, and beginning to map out an individualized plan to achieve these goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained in classical piano for 17+ years at the Hart School of Music in Hartford, CT under an award-winning classical musician. At the age of 13, I performed a Mozart Piano Concerto with a full string ensemble for a large audience. I have competed in multiple local, state-wide, and national music competitions throughout my training. I have mastered and performed advanced pieces by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy (one of my favorite composers!), and Bartok, etc. I also began taking Jazz Piano lessons at a young age, and have taken that training with me into almost every musical endeavor I have had since. I have worked as a piano teacher and a band coach for young girls at Girls Rock Campaign, Boston, and, previous to moving to Boston, taught a rotation of 20 classical and jazz piano students at Bach2Rock in Bethesda, MA. Prior to pursuing my MA in elementary education, I studied music production and composition at the University of Vermont. I have also had the incredible experience of studying Music Therapy through Lesley College. During my study at Lesley, I completed a year long internship in which I did music therapy with Alzheimer's patients. The piano, my training, and music (in general), has been with me through every stage of my life, from the age of 4 to 31
