Two months ago, I realized my depression had to end, so I looked to Colleen for guidance in both my personal and professional life. Since day one, Colleen's sessions have been non-invasive, with questions that carried me into finding the pit of my emotions, negativity and fear on my own. But even when I was lost for words, Colleen led me to answers because of her ability to open up my perceptions and perspectives. Two months ago, I did not feel happy. I did not like who I was. Now, after adopting new mindsets and working toward goals that Colleen helped me with, I realized that I am worthy of happiness, and that happiness was with me all along. I like who I am now, and I'm excited to continue growing. Great thanks to Colleen for this shift to a brighter life.

Colleen is genuinely the best person I've ever met at connecting people--to each other, to themselves, to what they want. She has a knack for pulling out all those jumbled thoughts in your brain and laying them out in a way that makes you think, "YES, EXACTLY, that's what's been in there, that's what I've been trying to make sense of, that's the direction I understand." Colleen gets it.

Colleen is really special. I’ve been working with her for the past few months on a diverse range of creative, academic, and emotional goals: she is helping me develop my Master’s Thesis at Columbia University, publish my first zine of comics, and proactively plan and prioritize my life from a place of independence and strength. Colleen’s specific toolset and background are perfectly suited to provide practical support as well as creative inspiration in each of these areas. As a creative herself, she has pointed me towards references and directions that are spot-on and invigorating, while at the same time offering a larger structure and organization for my work that allows me to actually get things done. One of the most concrete benefits I’ve experienced from working with Colleen is a huge improvement in my productivity and mood during the work day. Colleen crafts personalized schedules for my day based on neuroscience, and as a result I have literally doubled my essay-writing speed. Colleen is incredibly talented on an emotional level as well: she creates a safe space and time that is just for me, and I can tell that she is really listening and actively thinking about my goals because of her invariably insightful responses. It’s been wonderful having such a supportive partner in my life, and best of all, it is so fulfilling to actually accomplish goals that I’ve dreamt about for a long time. Colleen is magic – her coaching is the best thing to enter my life in a long time and she has my highest, most enthusiastic recommendation.

After one session with Colleen, I felt like an immense wight had been lifted from my shoulders. In my first session, she was extremely helpful in shining a light on the aspects of my life I wanted to better and guided me to setting a goal that excites me and that I can feel confident in accomplishing. Her way of coaching is so kind and thoughtful, and she gives you the tools and support to really feel like you are capable of positive change. I highly recommend Colleen to anyone that wants to be a better version of themselves, she will get the ball rolling for you!

Colleen provided me with two coaching sessions, that were enormously helpful. We worked through accomplishable, super positive goals, and I was able to gain a clear agenda of strategies to make them happen. Colleen's way of working is very personal and friendly without feeling at all intrusive, and she provided great insights! I'm really happy with the work we accomplished in such a short time frame, and how to work with her again soon.

I have been coaching with Colleen for exactly 4 months, and in that time, Colleen has been cheerleading me on to help me change the thinking that was holding me back, and took 33 years of life experience to develop. If that's not PURE MAGIC, I don't know what is. She is a Sorceress for your Soul, but her approach is anything but woo-woo. Her techniques work, plain and simple. She goes beyond listening and encouraging and shows you how your brain actually works. My mind has been blown, several times over, and for the first time since I was a kid, I'm actually feeling that curious zest for life, love, and progress! Remember that? The good news: you ARE capable of incredible growth when you become friends with that silly brain of yours. Her approach is logical, actionable, objective, non-judgmental, passionate, and, at times, hilarious. Since coaching with her, I've not only landed my dream job by showing up to an interview as my most authentic and weird self (and they didn't reject me!), I've also become a better manager, partner, and friend. Colleen gave me the courage and enthusiasm I needed to stop staying stuck in the mud and plow through! I'm more present and aware of my life and genuinely proud of the progress I'm making, and I credit much of this to having Colleen by my side! Why wait when you you could make light-years of progress with Colleen as your sidekick? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting the same results. Don't be Colleen.

Colleen is a rare combination -- both wonderfully logical and incredibly kind and warm. I can't say enough of my sessions with her, especially the analytical exercises and work to reframe thought processes. Colleen is your neuroscience-backed fairy godmother, helping you change your behaviors, retell your story to yourself, and leap for what you want the most (but have always been afraid to dare to even whisper to yourself that yes, you can have it, and yes, you do in fact deserve it). Using Pinterest boards, writing exercises, journaling, analytical exercises and actionable items and goals for the week, we've tackled so much together -- and the best part is, I know I'm not in it alone. I love having someone who has no SUBJECTIVE bias for what she wants to happen in my life -- unlike my family or friends, she is merely there to help me get the best, most passionate life. Change your thinking, and you'll change your life -- but this isn't just "think positively." It's "How can we be concrete in our new thinking and try out different new things to see what works." Try out her exercises and self-reflections and see if you don't have a new direction in a few months. Dakota Kim, Writer and Event Producer

Colleen is one of the most brilliant, compassionate, and invested coaches I've ever encountered!! Her way of thinking and tackling issues is truly amazing. There are no limits to her awesomeness. She is very generous with her devotion to her clients and genuinely invested in their journey. After just one session I have already started noticing changes in my life and the way I think. And there is nothing more amazing than a change of perception from fear to love, hope and excitement. She rocks and I wouldn't go with anyone else but her! Lots of LOVE and ever grateful! D

I worked with Rowan Coaching for only 2 sessions but both of them were very helpful. During our first session, Colleen explained her work/background/process clearly and then asked me very guided and thought-provoking questions about why I was looking for coaching. On our 2nd meeting she worked more specifically with me to get a better handle on what I wanted to change and then offered specific ideas and direction. And already some of the ideas are in place and have proved very fruitful on my journey.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work on a sliding scale from $75-125/hr, depending on income. This is significantly lower than the median cost of coaching, which - in New York City, where I live - is $500/hour. I have priced myself low intentionally, as I value working with people who are brave enough to risk living outside the traditional paths. We have an amazing new economy that supports freelance, creative, and entrepreneurial work - but that doesn't mean it's easy, or that you're going to rake in the dough right of the bat. I want to be available to these individuals, both at the beginning and throughout their journeys.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I discovered coaching in 2014, while on sabbatical from my position as partner in a boutique branding agency in New York City, and I've been discovering, growing, and working in the field ever since. My approach is a unique combination of who I am as an individual and the brain-based coaching method which I've studied through New York University and the NeuroLeadership Institute.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My particular passion is supporting people who have made (or are ready to make) the brave decision to define their own journeys - both as professionals and as humans in the world. Frequently, this means I'm working with creatives - designers, architects, and opera singers are all in my roster. It always means I'm working with creative thinkers, to my great joy. I work with creative thinkers like you for a reason - and it's not only because your minds and imaginations are the real magic that fuels me day by day. I've also walked in your shoes. As a classically trained opera singer who taught herself graphic design before joining the branding agency mentioned above, I understand the courage and stamina it takes to define your own journey. I ALSO KNOW WHY IT'S WORTH IT.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have helped several recent clients land their dream jobs - including one who recently started at Studio O+A, an incredible San Francisco design and architecture firm that creates innovative spaces for the likes of Uber and Yelp. This was a particularly exciting client accomplishment to me because we'd been working on how she could show up to interviews as her whole self, authentically and creatively. We came up with some really fun ideas, and bravely tried her new approach to magnificent effect. Now, after years of being in environments that didn't support her values, she's falling back in love with architecture in a wonderfully creative space, and truly thriving. This has been about a three month process - one month looking at values and what it meant to "show up as her whole self", one month looking for opportunities and tailoring her offering to the right job/going through the interview process, and one month acclimating to her new leadership role. And it's been great, challenging fun the whole way through!
