FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Of course, my standard price is $30 per hour. Given my native language skills, education, and experience, this is very appropriate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually ask questions about the needs they have in learning Spanish. I'd like to know whether they have any background in Spanish. Based on their response, I develop a methodology for the students to start learning or advance their learning Spanish. As a professional, this is my teaching philosophy: 1. Every student is different. 2. Every student has different needs. 3. Every student advances according to their needs. 4. Every student is special. 5. Every student deserves to succeed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a PhD at the University of Arizona in Soil, Water, and Environmental Science in 2001. I'm a retired professor from the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes (UAA, located in central Mexico). I taught for a 30-year period students with different careers: climatology and metorology, environmental science, and agriculture. I also did research in those fields. I tutored Spanish in Mexico for several groups of American citizens. They really wanted to understand the language.
