Introduction: At Cedarstone, our staff of highly-trained and experienced music professionals offer the highest quality private lessons in the region. The facilities include a state-of-the-art recording studio and soundproof lesson rooms with windows for easy viewing. We're located in an idyllic country setting which offers relaxation and exploration for parents and siblings while they wait. We provide the convenience of consistent scheduling as well as multiple performance opportunities throughout the year. I've been teaching since 2000, mostly because it is so fun! I love helping students discover the joys of playing music. We all have an inherent love of music, and some of my greatest gratification in teaching comes from connecting students to that feeling each week.

As a former student of Mr. Joe and the mother of two of his other students, I have nothing but praise for his teaching. While his grasp of music theory and song construction seems to be innate, his ability to teach those concepts on a level perfectly matched to each student is excellent. Mr. Joe has fueled a passion for music in my sons that has only grown stronger throughout 8 years of study. They actually WANT to practice their piano. Mr. Joe has the ability to use each student's inherent love of music as a framework for learning theory, technique, and musicianship. I can (and do) recommend Mr. Joe as an instructor of the highest level.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We talk about the student's favorite music and start creating a "Songs I Love" list that we can work on during lessons. We discuss their musical experience and where they envision themselves in the future.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor's Degree in Music from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. 15 years teaching experience (Island Music, Wausau Conservatory of Music). 30 years of international performances. 20 years songwriting.
