Great job with new water heater. On time, fast install and job done right! Thank you!
Fixed my water heater, then stuck around and fixed my gate! Thanks Lou and Jay!
Absolutely terrific! Very responsive, timely, courteous and patient with our questions. Dennis arrived with all the right parts ready to go as promised late in the afternoon. He brought help and they stayed after dark to complete the hot water heater install. He even called back after the job was done to remind me to turn the breaker back on. Saved me from another cold shower! Can't say enough good things about DR Home Improvements. I will use them again for our next project. Their pricing was the better of 4 other bids. So much win I can't believe it!
Mr. Faraci, thank you for all your help. You were quick and efficient when it came down to helping me to clean out my water heater. I would highly recommend you due to your knowledge and politeness. Thanks again Jennifer Christensen
I had rain damage from last storms in Chandler, I needed drywall repair and flooring fixed in the master bath of my rental. Doug responded quickly when he was busy with other projects. He was reasonably priced and completed the work when promised. Doug replaced drywall and textured it along with painting the affected area. He also found and replaced tile to match existing tile in the master bath and did a fine job. Doug also repaired some water damage in the garage at a reasonable price and did some minor repairs to small holes and fixed the doorknob at no charge. Bottom line is I was able to trust him to do the job and he came through as promised.
Changed the water valve for washer, ran into some problems, not his fault, took care of it. On time, great clean up and very professional! Will use Lane again!
Larry was very responsive and punctual. His work was clean and quality. He replaced a hose bib and water shutoff valve. Thank you! Now I can wash my car at home again! 😊
Charles spent several hours on a few repairs that we needed for my mother's townhouse - replacing the hot water heater, removing a non-functioning water softener, replacing an upstairs bath tub cartridge, installing a new toilet. His charges were exactly what he quoted, very fair and some of the aspects of some of the work ended up involving more time than originally anticipated.
Jason did a great job replacing the hot and cold washer valves. He only replaced what was needed even though we thought a few angle valves might also need replacing. Jason showed up on time and Jason was very nice. We recommend Jason:)
Wise-Ventz provided a quick and professional response. They took the time to listen to my description of the problem and then went right to work. They found the most non-invasive solution to repair our broken dryer vent and left everything in better than new condition when finished.
Matt was great. Not only did he inspect my HVAC system, I actually hired them to replace my water heater also.
I've always had good luck with Thumbtack. I heard from Mike almost immediately after posting what I needed. It was late in the evening and he came to my house early the next morning. Great communication all along. He evaluated what I needed (a new water heater, unfortunately. Boo!) Made arrangements to come out the next day. The installation took most of the day as he had to redo the piping to bring it up to code. The price was what he quoted. No extra charges. He did a great job. Very appreciative.
I hired for a water heater replacement. I recommend this company. They were on time and efficient. They were did a great job and I have hot water. Thank you for a great job! Fyi they are available 24/7!!
Photo updates to follow First, I should say that for a big project like this, I would hire John again, bottom line. That is probably the most straightforward way to assess the renovation as a whole. We hear nightmare stories all the time about significant (and even minor) home renovations and, while we had our frustrations, we went through a big job with few significant complaints. Planning/cost: Initially discussing the project, John was extremely receptive to our budget needs: we had saved up a very specific amount of money, and needed to complete two big projects in order to make the house more appealing to future renters (as we plan to move to a home with my wife's parents for the foreseeable future). The house had only one bathroom, even though it was approximately 1600 square feet. We needed to fix that if any families were going to rent. John understood and very clearly explained where we would be able to save money, what he would charge us for his work, for materials he bought vs. materials we provided, the realistic areas we could go cheap and the areas we couldn't scrimp on. John's price was not just competitive, but frankly made the difference between us being able to have these two complete and dramatic projects vs. one that would have left us feeling wanting. However, it was the price along with the fact that his clients indicated he was flexible and budget sensitive through the whole project that made the decision for us. (We've certainly dealt with people who claim to be able to work with "x" budget, and then everything somehow inflates dramatically over time.) We had a laundry/utility room that was separated from the main house by a breezeway. John connected it to the main house with brick in the same style as the house. He converted the room to a full bath and laundry room with a large shower. Simultaneously, he opened up the bare backyard wall of the main house, installing larger windows and glass french doors. Quality of work/cleanliness: John completed a great deal of the work himself, using a subcontractor to perform most of the brick work and the drywall. The quality, functionality, and look of the work overall was simply fantastic. Day after day they meticulously cleaned up their work, leaving as little footprint as possible on our day to day lives throughout the process, which, frankly reduced the stress that I believe tends to naturally accumulate during such projects. Once we paint it I believe the new brick will be entirely indistinguishable from the old. The brick has extremely clean lines in the same pattern as the existing work, and the finishing work around the windows and doors is excellent. We did have a brief ordeal flushing out a clog that seemed to result from construction debris, but ultimately the plumbing is excellent. Similarly, the shower tile work ultimately is terrific, but we did have a problem with the layout due to an error that John corrected, and it looks wonderful. In the bathroom, he took what was basically a junk/laundry room and installed an elegantly laid out vanity, toilet, laundry hookups on one side, and a massive shower, and utility/cleanup sink on the other, with room to spare. He added a simple half-wall to divide the toilet from the washer/dryer that works perfectly to separate the space. The shower he created for us is enormous and beautiful. Every time we go in the room, we are impressed all over again. The whole room could have appeared like a necessary appendage stuck on to the rest of the house, but that large, bright tile shower makes the room look elegant. Flexibility: I hated to lose my very functional utility sink from that room and hadn't planned for a replacement; however, John helped by coming up with a clever solution to put a sealed brick sink in with the water heater closet. which works perfectly. It's a clean, and very functional solution that I constantly appreciate having, though it was certainly a significant adjustment for him. When we requested adjustments, it felt as though John quoted a bit high to accommodate time and materials (and his added stress). But all in all he was fair and up front about the work, his time, and our options. That being said, there were some frustrations: Our frustrations all come down to communication and documentation. I don't fault John for all of this - his talent lies in the work he does; had we been more on the ball, we would have been more clear and organized ourselves. We had any number of preliminary discussions with John, and agreed to three or four major things up front, that satisfied us the work could be done in a way that would meet all of our needs. But as the project began and progressed, numerous details were forgotten. Specifically, the layout of the utility room and the physical requirements for the french doors to be installed. John repeatedly asked how we wanted to accommodate something as if we had not already come to a conclusion on the matter and we would essentially have to re-figure it out. Specifically, he forgot the layout that best accommodated all of the elements I mentioned above, and he forgot that he would have to "float" the bathroom wall, requiring a different (pricier) toilet than originally planned. Additionally, when he went to start work on the french doors, he had to take extra time to order a lintel that would span the entire length rather than two separate lintels - but, of course these were dimensions he'd known since originally planning the project. Things like this ultimately got worked out to our satisfaction, with one frustrating exception, but if either of us had documented what we'd agreed upon, it would have saved a great deal of hassle and debate, as my wife and I had to re-discuss everything ourselves as well, which reinforced John's feeling that we'd never come to a final agreement to begin with. Time/documentation: While we believe John was more than fair in his billing, the lack of clear, consistent documented days/hours prevented us from having a clear, concrete idea where we stood financially during the project. This impacted us when, in a couple of instances, we did ask for changes (such as installing the utility sink) and he quoted us for the change, though we had no idea whether we were in the high or low end of the overall planned project. All of this is to say: John worked it all out, and he did so in a way that was affordable, excellent, excellent, quality, beautiful work. But, in order to avoid frustration, agreements as to planning should be documented and ongoing days/hours worked should be documented. This would help avoid revisiting complicated plans and would allow for adjustments without having to be in the dark about the bottom line. Day in, day out, we are grateful for the work John did, and that it didn't eat us alive financially, because he did come in right in line with the budget. We love looking through our fantastic glass doors every morning. We have guests stay with us for a day or two, and love having a beautiful distinct bathroom they can use when they stay with us. We love knowing they won't feel they're entering into some dark corner of the house tacked on because it had to be, but that there's a beautiful bath with plenty of space that they can make themselves feel at home in.
My water heater was leaking and One Call Services came out so fast to repair it! Excellent service and very knowledgeable as well. I will use again.
I discovered a leak in the hot water heater and posted on thumbtack about 1:30 PM. I chose to call West plumbing at 2:00 PM, Jim was here before 3:00 to inspect the heater. He checked to see if the heater was still under warranty and found it was still covered. He left to pick up new heater, returned and had to do some extra plumbing. All work was completed and the work area cleaned before 6:00 PM. I would recommend West Plumbing to everyone.
Technician was friendly enough but it was clear he (or the company in general) did not have the knowledge to repair my brand of water softener. After five minutes of pushing buttons he said it needed to be replaced for $2,000! I said no way and called another company with a more expensive service call fee that was able to repair this specific brand - for $230. Unfortunately I still had to pay the first service call fee too of $39.
We had a water leak behind the bathtub. Carl immediately sent a guy out to inspect for water damage (at no extra charge). The gentleman who came by was friendly and professional. No damage found. Carl stopped by a couple days later (on a Saturday, when our schedules aligned) and he found the issue and fixed it. Carl was friendly and very professional. I would highly recommend him!
The company was very responsive and was able to send someone to help on a Sunday, when everyone else wanted me to wait until Monday to have my water heater fixed, which would have meant no hot water for the weekend. Gary really went above and beyond installing the water heater, configuring a difficult pipe connection without complaining or even discussing the problems as they came up. His expertise and experience was clear as he resolved every problem without skipping a beat. Gary was professional, so much more than competent, and cleared away everything after the job. I didn't lift a finger during or after the job. This is what customer service is supposed to be like. Well done.
Morgan was a pleasure to talk with on the phone - she quickly found a specialist in my area for the same day. Alex came within about an hour after I called him. Immediately cleared off the stuff that was damaged by water and set up dehumidifier, fan, and applied treatment. Came back on the third day to wrap everything up. The area was completely dry and ready for drywall repair. It was a pleasure working with Alex. I would definitely hire them again. The price was very reasonable.
We found a leak in our water heater on Saturday and needed to get someone out ASAP. Dustin was at our home within an hour of posting to thumbtack. It turned out the water heater had multiple leaks/issues and Dustin explained exactly what was wrong with it and walked us through our options. We ended up replacing the entire unit and Dustin helped us do it quickly and for a fair price. We are very grateful to have found Dustin and would absolutely use him again.
