Bonnie Lou serenaded all the family as we celebrated our Mother's 90th birthday Sunday June 18. In keeping with our Spanish theme Bonnie Lou entertained us with classical Spanish guitar tunes and exceptional ukulele music. We even sang Happy Birthday to Mom as she strummed the ukulele. Because of Bonnie Lou our Mother's birthday was wonderful and memorable.
Before our son began guitar lessons with Jeff, he got very good, competent lessons from other private instructors as well as those affiliated with the very impressive ASU music department. But Jeff’s individualized approach has been decidedly different. Recognizing that our 10 year old has areas of music that motivate him to stay excited and engaged, he always keeps the fun parts as the backbone of the learning process. This past weekend, he eagerly and proudly showed me the importance of knowing a variety of scales (major, minor, mixolydian, pentatonic, blues, etc.) and how he can use them to create music of his own. Talk about impressive! We can’t recommend Jeff more highly!
Jimmi is a joy. He is energetic, off-hand, and ready to move constantly. His knowledge of the ukulele, guitar, and piano was impressive and came out in his teaching, making me both trust him and want to know more. Further, his teaching style builds on each other and he is always ready with praise and critique to tell you that you're on the right track and capable of more. I had a lot of fun at my consultation and already feel like I'm better equipped. I can't wait for my first official lesson!
I began taking guitar lessons with John and have been very happy with his knowledge. His expertise really shows with every lesson. I definitely recommend him for any guitar level!!
I began classical guitar lessons over a year ago and Michael has taught me more about music than I ever expected to learn. I enjoy my lessons bi weekly and have even begun taking drum lessons with Michael
Ryan is currently teaching my fraternal twins the acoustic guitar. The lessons take place in his home where he has a studio. He is a nice, young man. He is very talented and has been playing for about 10 years and because of that, I know he is well trained. He is easy to get along with and takes his time. He really cares about his teaching. My twins like going to get their lessons. And the most important thing to mevis that they are learning to play the acoustic guitar! He is a really good teacher and makes them feel like they are experts when they just started to play. Thank you, Ryan. Keep up the good work!
I have had guitar lessons from Reggie Chavez now for over four years. I started with Reggie without any knowledge or previous training on guitar at the age of 58 . Reggie has literally opened a new door to me to the wonderful experience of the playing a musical instrument. I have learned the fundamentals and then learned how to play songs. Reggie has inspired me to play live with other guitarists confidently. Best of all, Reggie instructs in a way that is relaxed, and gives me constructive feedback in a reassuring way, never harsh or in a way I feel bad. He is the best !
Quick and easy to coordinate piano lessons for my six year old.
Maryanne is a wonderful classical guitar teacher. She is very talented on this instrument and teaches in such a professional manner. She's extremely patient and helpful and even willing to answer calls and texts during non-lesson times if I have a question about a piece of music that I'm working on. She takes into consideration the types of music that I want to play and yet makes sure that I have the basic techniques to play correctly. I highly recommend Maryanne as a classical guitar teacher.
I believe, there is a significant difference between a Coach & a Teacher. Both should be well-versed in Basic fundamental standards & both should keep abreast of technological advancements that amend & add to those standards along the way, but a Good Coach knows, He not only has to excel at instilling those good ol' fundamentals, standards & new upgrades, He also knows "he must first get the attention, approval, & respect of the individual he works with, to find & bring out the best in them". I've been a student at The Drummer's Den for almost 3 years. I'm difficult to work with because, I was born with learning difficulties, Dyslexia & ADHD included. I won't reveal my age but, Believe me when I say "I've been through the gamut when it comes to experiences with Teachers & Coaches." When standards are the bottom line, you're a Teacher. When a solid rudimentary foundation, personal creativity, individual &/or group advancement & achievement are taken into consideration, along with the bottom line, you are a Coach😛‼️ Coach Bryan Hawkesworth at The Drummer's Den applies all the important fundamentals but with humanity❗️ He Coaches with patience & understanding, He respects individual differences & seeks out new presentation methods. (If I don't understand one perspective he can pitch another one, or more, until I get it😁‼️He listens to me, let's me Play & try new things that I like‼️ From Rudiments through Rock, & Jazz, & on to something new from there. Don't be fooled by the name of the place. I'm a Drummer learning drums & Cajon but, eventually maybe I'll move on to Guitar. I can choose to start with Bass (which might be easier) or I can try Lead guitar & see how it goes. I Got all my equipment right there on site. Bryan Special orders from any Drum or Hardware manufacturer that I choose👍. He listens & Helps me with choices & options❗️ I'm older & wiser than I used to be & that's a good thing but, more importantly this whole experience of learning a new skill, having someone listen about what's important to me & help with music decisions, gave me something I never expected to have, A level of self-esteem, self-worth, & confidence that (I'm sure) you can only achieve from really Great Coaching & Great personal customer service😁‼️✌️ M R Harmon
Roger comes to my house each week to give my 12-year-old son acoustic guitar lessons. He is extremely patient and my son, actually all of us just love him. Within a lesson or two Roger had him doing scales and reading music, he's now playing songs and sounds pretty good. Highly recommend Roger to any musician!
I have taken vocal lessons and songwriting coaching from Michael Daniel. In addition he has produced a few songs for me. Besides being an excellent, patient instructor with an unparalleled knowledge of rock and pop music, he makes me sound gooooooood. Very kind, ethical instructor.
Alex has really made an impression on my 7 yo son and he has only had two lessons. He practices guitar nearly every day and is showing me how to play without getting my thumb lasered off. (This is apparently what happens if one’s thumb is visible above the neck). Alex is very good with my son even though his attention span is short. He is showing him the correct way to hold and play the guitar and my son is really enjoying the lessons. So far, Alex has been very conscientious and reliable. I would certainly recommend him as a guitar instructor.
Dave is a very professional and excellent musician. I have been taking guitar lessons from him for four years now and have learned a great deal from Dave. I have greatly improved my playing because of him. Dave is a very friendly and patient teacher and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who wants lessons.
We have been taking guitar lessons from Tom Wray (GuitarTommy) for almost 3 years now. His knowledge and ability to teach always instills in us a desire to learn more and play better. He starts our lessons on time, but more importantly, he stresses the fundamentals. He's very professional. We highly recommend him for all age groups. He's GREAT!
My son age 9 started taking guitar lessons from Rena a year ago. He can read any music and play almost anything she puts in front of him, because of the great teacher/musician she is. She dedicated to my child's education in life. Thank you Rena -----------Chrisdena

I offer drum lessons. I've been teaching students of all ages, from beginner to advanced, drawing from my many years of professional experience in the studio and live playing as well as touring. We combine what the student is interested in (more so for advanced) and what they need work on. To get you playing with less effort, more control, better ideas, on top of a very solid groove, I am using traditional books and years of teaching experience. I also offer music lessons, covering beginning piano. The student learns how to read and play notes, rhythms, chords, melodies and scales. I also teach bass guitar. The students will learn to read rhythms, notes on instrument and scales, approach to good technique, articulation and read tab and standard music.
Being a professional touring and recording artist gives me insight and experiences that average guitar teachers cant pass on to there students.
