Introduction: I discovered my passion for making photographs over 30 years ago with the purchase of my first "real" camera, a Minolta 35mm SLR. It has manual focus only and manual film advance. The learning curve was a bit expensive due to the cost of film and development but as much as possible, I pointed it at whatever caught my interest and fired away. I began the transition to digital photography in 1994. After all these years, I still feel the same sense of satisfaction and enjoyment when I look for the first time at a quality photo I've taken and think to myself, "Huh, I made that?". Along the way I also discovered a passion for helping others learn new things. I picked up a masters of education degree and a bucket load of experience, developing and delivering learning experiences for adults. I experience that same sense of satisfaction and enjoyment when I see the light bulb come on for another person and they say, "Oh, I get it!".
