    Stephanie Petersen has been our guest speaker/teacher a couple times at our Sweet-Stops events. You can't help but 'catch on' to what she is teaching because of her enthusiasm, knowledge, and love for whatever she is doing. Looking forward to more classes. (The truth is.....doesn't matter what she's worth your time)

    Normally, I wouldn't give 5 stars so easily, but Chef Tess is impressive not only as a chef, but in character as well. I took a rather large group of kids and a couple of adults to one of her cooking classes and was AMAZED at her ability to engage and control the group. Several of the children have ADHD, and yet with Stephanie's warmth, laughter and sincerity, that group was all hers. She was professional, canny, and witty, and we were laughing with her almost the entire time. The quality of the instruction as well as the food went above and beyond my expectations. As a lover and connoisseur of healthy and REAL food, Chef Tess is definitely gifted and ready to teach and impress.

    What a dynamo this fabulous lady is! She taught about 35 ladies how to make decorative breads that were drop dead gorgeous! Everyone was thrilled and impressed with their creations... and Stephanie's bubbly personality made it so much FUN! She's charming, talented and will be your new BFF!

Having worked side by side chef Peterson on many professional venues, she exudes professionalism as well as charm and impeccable product knowledge. It is an honor to know this fine chef.

    Stephanie, aka Chef Tess has become a very popular repeat instructor for my clients. I have hosted 4 events with Stephanie as our instructor to teach clients cost saving kitchen skills and home production. She is on time, well organized, creative, and a problem solver! Have a strange space? She'll figure out how to use it. She is very willing and able to work with the needs of the group to ensure successful classes each time. The first class Stephanie taught, I had 5 sign ups, the most recent one had 23. (that was only the 3rd class. Word spreads that the Chef Tess classes are a great event!)

    Energetic, bubbly and that's only the beginning. Easy instructions and she's open to interaction with her class. Sometimes her classes are hands on. When she has her kids classes she makes it easy for kids to understand and follow. Love her classes and cookbooks. Can't wait till her next class here in CA.

    I went to a class with Stephanie about making croissant type doughnuts. I haven't been able to figure out how to make them. She gave some excellent tips that I was able to use immediately in all of my cooking! Her class was pretty fun, she's pretty flexible when people ask her some interesting question and was able to make everything look really easy to do. If something went wrong, I couldn't tell. She makes me feel like I can be the best "chef" I can be!!!

    I took Stephanie's class, Meals In A Jar, and a baking bread class a couple of years ago. I learned a lot. She's funny and bubbling over with joy. She's professional, yet humble. She always seems to say the right thing no matter what situation may arise. Who doesn't love some one that makes them laugh and feel good? She goes beyond her responsibility and is a very giving person.

    I have witnessed firsthand Stephanie's vibrant personality and the positive and upbeat way in which she teaches and shares her cooking knowledge with her classes as well as on a personal level. I have taken personal cooking classes from Stephanie, worked alongside her in some very intense presentation situations, and been witness to her genius as she conducts a cooking class for over 50 people. She has a dynamic personality and a contagious giggle - and a flair for culinary genius. She has a way of breaking down the most complex recipie into simple steps that almost anyone can follow.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in culinary arts and restaurant management and have been a chef for 20 years. I have four nationally published cookbooks.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Ironically, it wasn't until I had children that I decided to become an instructor. It fit my family's lifestyle and being able to control my own schedule is very important. Baking and cooking have long been a passion of mine, but seeing people learn to take-on a new skill has been powerful beyond words!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most commonly I teach basic baking, cooking, and grilling with a lot of folks who want to eat healthy and live better.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently I taught an event for Wounded Warrior Project to help the families of veterans who are learning to make extra money or support their family needs. It has been one of the most rewarding groups to work with in this line of education.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You get what you pay for when hiring an instructor. Look for someone who will fit your needs and be able to make cooking concepts understandable.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
When I book a class or an event, I set aside that date and time for you, and I don't double-book. That being said, there needs to be a joint effort to make sure you get enough people to class.
