FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do have a standard pricing system. I charge $25.00 per lesson if done in my home studio (near 75th. Ave. & Bethany Home Rd.). For in home lessons prices start at $50 if you are within 7 miles from me and go up from there depending on how much further you are (call for more information).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I'll ask a few questions about what he/she wants to do with their drumming like do they want to be in a band and play shows one day or do they aspire to try to make it big or maybe they just want to learn enough to play music with some friends once in a while etc. just to see where their thoughts are with it. Then I'll show them how to hold the sticks right and how to use proper form and we're on our way with their first lesson.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My teacher was a well schooled big band drummer throughout the 50's and 60's and played with some of the best musicians of those times. I was his student for 2 1/2 years in the late 70's. His ability and knowledge was second to none. He taught me not only how to play the drums but he also taught me a lot about music theory as it applies to percussion. In other words, he taught me how to be a musician. This combined with over 38 years as a performing drummer playing many styles of music from various time periods with over 1000 stage appearances gives me both a very technical education and a lot of real world experience to go with it.
