Just did long distance moving (740mi) with Express Moves. 1. Above all, very low price for the long distance moving. 2. Responsibility - underestimated the load during the estimation and brought too small truck, but immediately rented a bigger truck without increasing price to keep the promise. Showed up on time, loaded in short time (many movers came for it in the night), delivered on time though it was not easy schedule. 3. Great movers, BR and Jaden. Diligent, polite, bright, fast response. These young men were the key who made this moving on time with the low price. 4. A little low quality as consequence of low price and plan change - no wrap on furniture made a chip on a table. Couldn't bring power tool and small thing when assemble furniture because shipping plan changed. I had to accepted early pick-up in the night and changed my air plane ticket to help the unloading and moving done on time for the one day shipping plan. But I willingly did it to guarantee benefit for them from this shipping. Thought I was tired, it was fair because I saved money for this shipping. And they will become better with these experiences. Overall - Good and trustable moving company, I recommend. Very low price for long distance moving with reasonable quality.

I moved locally over Labor Day Weekend. I hadn't hired movers in a very long time because of horrendous past experiences with some in the East Valley. Had I not searched through Thumbtack, I would have never found this gem of a moving company. Compared to other moving companies wanting to charge me upwards of $400+ just to move a small amount of things from a one bedroom apartment to another one bedroom apartment (that was literally 4 miles down the road), this one was extremely reasonable. Sylvester and Ricky came to help me and they were exceptional. They were extremely professional, polite, and respectful to me and my belongings. They made sure to ask me exactly how I wanted things and even offered to throw away some of my trash. It was hard for me to let them do these things, even if they were included in the price of the package, because I am so used to doing them myself and I can't just not help. They completely changed my views on local moving companies. I would recommend them to anyone!

Ali, Brandon and Jason did a good job with helping my family move into a new house. They did arrive late (previous job in day was longer than expected but this gave my family and I more time to pack since our move was short notice to begin with). However, once they arrived things went quick and smooth. The guys were professional and friendly.

These guys don't pussyfoot around. It's hard to find good movers who care about you, your things, and your time. Moving Done Right is the perfect name for this business. I was pretty uptight on moving day, but they made the move more enjoyable. They're strong, quick, considerate, friendly, upbeat and very efficient. They don't mess around, they come in assess the situation, and get the job done! There quote is what got me. No hidden fees. Very reasonably priced. They beat the competition so I thought why not, and now I'm hooked! If you're looking for movers that you can trust, that'll make your move a more enjoyable one, and care about you, and your move. "Moving Done Right" is the one to call. Thanks "Moving Done Right" Your Awesome! 👍👍👍

We used About Integrity Movers for a short move from a storage unit to a house we rented. They worked us in on a Saturday, showed up when they said they they would, and finished the job in less time then estimated. They were polite, professional, and I would recommend them.

Great group of movers!! Very respectful and communicated with us throughout the day updating progress. They packed boxes, disassembled and reassembled furniture. The job was larger than originally expected, so Carnell was flexible and called in another mover to get the job done. Definitely would recommend Boss Moves Relocation Speciliasts!

I hired Sun City Muscle Movers on 8/1/2017. They were great to work with. Houston which is the owner was actually on the move along with another guy named Daniel. I couldn't believe that the owner was actually at my house assisting with my move. I told him that was very rare. I moved a couple times in the last past years and the owners I dealt with wouldn't give a hand or two nor come out and assist with my previous moves. He knew what he was doing when it came to packing up my house. My husband and I were very happy during and after the move was completed. Thank you, Sun City Muscle Movers. Keep up the great work!

These guys rocked! I needed two movers on short notice. I thought because i was about to schedule a move with a days notice that I would be charged an arm and a leg, but this was not the case with these guys. They are very affordable, reliable and honest. I highly recommend.

I know for a fact that many no-frills moving companies hire part time movers who really lack of experience. I was expecting the same from lifetime moving & storage. To my surprise, these guys really did the job excellently. I gathered that they were doing this job for a very long time. They were very creative while they packed all my belongings and used correct packing materials for different things. The loading process went very smoothly as well. They delivered my goods on time in great condition. The experience factor alone is a good enough reason to hire these guys!

I decided to call TLC in September for my Big Oct Move! These guys were more than ready and they took care of everything from packing to furniture wrapping to assembly of all my bedroom sets. Since the move was gonna be pretty long, the guys took a 20 min lunch break to recharge.. the overall bill was hundreds cheaper than two other quotes I received from some other local movers> well I highly recommend these guys> good luck

AmerApex helped us move from our high-rise condo in Chicago to a 3-floor townhome in the Bay Area. They helped us pack up most of our things (and the car) and load it into the truck, and it only took 3 days to arrive! Alex and his team are responsive, highly professional, neat, and respectful. I would highly recommend them to anyone doing a long distance move!

The mover I "reserved" was a "no show". I needed some one NOW. Lucky for me I found these people on the internet. The move was from a tempe storage facility to a condo in phoenix, az, it was 111' degrees out and it was time sensitive. Within a couple hours, actually at the exact time he quoted, Thomas was there with a helper. The job was done carefully and professionally, at a very competitive rate. Everything was "as promised" and these gentlemen were extremely friendly, amazing, it was sooo hot outside. I would definitely use them again, he told me he also does auto transport and long distance moving. definitely a positive experience, if you need a, arizona based moving company check them out Mark Knauf

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
