We had a very aggressive hive of bees in the community garden that were preventing us from working. The Victory folks came out and solved the problem. They were prompt, very responsive by phone and email, extremely knowledgeable and professional as well as very reasonably priced. Would definitely call on them again.

John is prompt, punctual, and very knowledgeable in what he does. He came out to do bee removal and noticed that I had traces of bedbugs on an old matress being thrown out. He showed me what to look for and inspected some of the other matresses replaced. I am hoping they were dead before we aquired the matress that was only in my house for 3 days, but if I find any bedbugs in my house I will be calling him back out.

Mojo came out and did a thorough inspection. Coby was very honest showing me that the bugs I thought were termites were not actually termites. Even as a favor he removed the insects that I thought were termites free of charge. I'll certainly call him if I have termites in the future. I recommend this company!

    About

I do live beehive removals. I am a beekeeper first and remove bees to support the bee farm. The removals help to pay for brood boxes supers and upkeep on the apiary.

    About

This company was started with the sole purpose of saving bees from unnecessary death and also educating the general public about bees, and that not all bees are bad and need to be exterminated. We have worked for and with several pest control and so-called "bee removal" companies in the valley, and realized these guys were taking advantage of customers as well as killing bees that should not be killed such as swarms. The prices some of these companies charge are beyond outrageous, and some of the stories and sales tactics we get reports of are also outrageous. We knew starting this company would upset some of the local companies, and we knew they would be badmouthing us over the phone to potential customers, and we get reports of this on a daily basis. We like the fact that this is happening; it means that we are making a difference, and customers who see past all the stories and bad business ethics by these companies use us and never regret it. We are proud of this fact, and that is why our customer base is growing daily. We offer a flat rate of $80 for our bee removal and control service.

    About

We specialize in the safe removal of bees and their hives and all bee-related issues. Dealing with bees and bee colonies is an extremely dangerous undertaking. This process should never be attempted by anyone other than a professional. If you are experiencing a bee problem, you should contact ASAP Bee Removal immediately. We service the entire Phoenix, West Valley and East Valley area, including Scottsdale, Glendale, Cave Creek, Surprise, Goodyear, Sun City, Peoria, Chandler, Tempe, Gilbert and Mesa. We are open 24/7.

    About

We offer bee removal and relocation to the beautiful Sonoran desert environment. Arizona Bees is not your typical beekeeping business. Bees are not medicated, nor fed anything other than forage from the desert cacti and pesticide and herbicide-free gardens 40 miles from the closest cities, so you can rest assured they are not foraging in pesticide-laden fields. Arizona Bees is a small family business. Customers love our work and are hard pressed to find any other beekeeper who can provide a similar pristine beekeeping philosophy.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
      • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
      • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
    • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
      • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

    • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
      • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
    • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.
