Cedric was supposed to DJ my wedding, he did not show up at the right location on our first meeting. He blamed it on his "secretary" for the confusion. I shrugged it off, and he seemed very nice and excited to start his DJ business so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I appreciated his drive to succeed and his enthusiasm in our meeting, so we booked him. Then, a month before the wedding, he wanted to meet again to go over the order of events. We had to reschedule, and he was flexible, and said he would contact us to reschedule but didn't. I contacted him a few days later and got something set up for the next week. The day of our meeting, I happened to check my wedding email account, he had sent an email two hours prior to me noticing and about 4 hours before our meeting saying he lost his phone and to email him to confirm our appointment. I emailed him and he got back to me 15 minutes before our scheduled meeting saying he couldn't make it. He had the wrong location down again and this time the wrong time as well. I like the guy, so I expressed my concern about these two instances and asked him to reassure me that he would be able to show up on our wedding day. He told me if I had concerns that we could cancel the contract and he would send back my payment. I was glad to hear this because I was getting very nervous about his work ethic and professionalism. We hired a new DJ with tons of reviews on Thumbtack. Unfortunately, that was weeks ago and we still have yet to get our deposit back from PND Events. Granted, we knew there would be a chance we would forfeit it cancelling a month before the wedding, but in our mind it was worth it in order to get a more reliable DJ. Still, I wish he would have followed through on his promise. It seems that Cedric is very excited about his business, but sadly has a track record of not following through. He may also be a little to spread thin with his commitments as it seems like he has several jobs, and is maybe even going to school. Unfortunately, I hate leaving poor reviews, but I want to warn other potential clients and I hope that Party Next Door / Cedric can see that these actions have repercussions. Sorry Cedric, I wish you the best in your business and your future.
