He actually hasn't arrived yet, but L&R had excellent credentials, responded quickly, and addressed all my questions re: residential grade fabrics versus the high end commercial that he provided as references. As a designer, I have used both commercially graded "rubs" type fabric but this was a Zimmer and Rhode (I believe is the name....) ikiat with crewel embroidery that I had (minimally) stained with a highlighter. Therefore, it needed a gentle wand for the embroidered areas, special treatment for what are probably some kind of petroleum based chemicals (that would be in markers), and general cleaning for lightly soiled use but on a fabric that has never been cleaned. He was great with a super prompt reply, answered all my questions including those about product used and any post-cleaning smell that will dissipate, or at least does with the better contractors. I'm not a real "green" researcher simply because sometimes I have felt that I paid quite a bit through these type of services who sell cleaning services, but their product and "after smell" didn't clean the piece very well and kept a smell in the upholstered piece (past situation with carpet and couch when I had things cleaned in Arizona a year ago). So, until he actually comes and cleans, I can't give an actual review on the work, but thus far in terms of quick, accessible reply and his understanding of my concerns of commercial vs. residential, he has been very direct and helpful.
I gotta say that I have mixed feelings about my experience with Transformers. The work that Ricks team and his sub-contractors did, was very good! The problem is, is that the work wasn't completely finished! This is partly a "shame on me" for paying Rick in full prior to completion. I was leaving out of town for 6 days and Rick couldn't wait that long to get paid the balance and promised that everything would be done by the time I got back. For the most part, everything was done, but there were a couple of things that he didn't do that he promised. I know that he is probably very busy but I have not been able to get him to respond, to take care of these things. This isn't to say that I wouldn't use him again, but I would want to be able to monitor the work and make sure everything was complete before the final payment was made.
I had an assortment of "hanging" and furniture repair projects having just moved into an apartment. I described all of them briefly, pointed out how I had thought through the measuring and any issues I thought he would run into, but I also said I didn't want to micromanage as I had work to do, I can get tedious, so I had done the general placement on sketches or wall. He absolutely got to work on all of it, asking me questions when he was uncertain but immediately grasping the visual "lines" i wanted to line up, spacing, etc. He had great equipment, a very nice manner, was super smart and efficient and careful with the work.
I was very impressed with the work done by Silva General Contractors. They did the baseboards in a large area of my home for a very reasonable price. The three member crew was friendly and efficient. They matched the paint to what was in the house currently perfectly and the job came out nice. I would hire them again.
We had a leak in our flat roof that required patching and recoating. Bill was quick to respond to all of our questions through the app, over email, or by text. He offered a very fair quote and the pricing was transparent throughout the project. It is apparent how much experience and skill they have. As a young couple that had not used any kind of contractor before, we were hesitant about the whole process but Bill and his team made us feel very comfortable. The team was efficient, professional, and left the area clean when done. We would recommend him to any of our friends and will definitely be calling him for any future house projects.
Blue Mountain far exceeded my expectations. I had them replace my carpet with bamboo flooring on my stairs. They were able to do exactly what other contractors said was not possible, and it came out better than I could have imagined. They are organized, professional, efficient and friendly. I would definitely use them again!

These guys are great. I gave them my budget for this project and they got the job done within an hour. The cost was 1/2 what another contractor quoted. I highly recommend these guys!
We had a great experience with Tim. He did two bathrooms for us, lots of tile work, took down walls, put up walls, new light fixtures etc. He's a very talented contractor and is professional as well, very clean too. During the projects, when we changed our minds on something or wanted to add something last second he was accommodating. Hoping to work with him on some future home projects and highly recommend him.
retired major contractor in tucson, phx, las vegas
Josh and his helpers did a great job putting external foam board insulation and stucco on the cinder block casita I use for a home office. Prior to the job my AC couldn't get summer afternoon temps below 95, now I can keep it at a comfortable 75. Rare for a contractor, Josh always showed up when he said he would. He kept in close touch with me by phone or text, always letting me know when he would be there. He worked long hours in terrible heat. He was always friendly, positive, and thoughtful. He bid the job flat rate, and he put in more time and care than I expected -- no corner cutting. The project was complicated and neither of us had done a job just like this -- we were using poly ISO foam board covered with a base of cement stucco and a topcoat of acrylic stucco. I wanted the cement base to keep the woodpeckers from hammering into the foam board. Before Josh, I talked with another stucco contractor who was going to hammer concrete nails to fasten the foam board and wire lath to the cinder blocks. Aside possible issues with fracturing the cinder block, the nails would have transferred heat through the foam board. So we ended up using special plastic anchors I ordered from Amazon. Each of 300 anchors required a 5/16th inch hole to be drilled in the cinder block. Josh cheerfully did it this way, even though it increased the work, and the final result is solid and there was no loss in insulation due to bridging. Josh came back a couple days after I paid him to clean up the site. I'm more used to contractors disappearing when it comes time for clean up. All in all Josh was great to work with and gave excellent value for money. I've overseen many home renovation projects with many contractors, and Josh made it easy!
DD Kruse was prompt in responding to my call. Dean Kruse offered great solutions at a time when other contractors were hesitant to take on the job. Bathroom cabinetry had water damage and needed to be replaced. He took extra time to find matching cabinet doors and drawers, tile and specific light fixtures. He is extremely considerate and pleasant to work. The work was finished quickly and the bathroom looks stunning! My only suggestion is that there should be more attention to detail by the work crew who was a little messy.
This is the most fantastic interior designer I have ever worked with. I have built or moved into 7 homes in my life always using an interior designer. Leslie far surpasses any of the others. Leslie can provide the interior design for ones home around customers desires. I wanted someone who would design around my likes and dislikes and not come with a specific style that was hers. Leslie exceeded my expectations in this area. Leslie is exacting, has high expectations of the contractors and subcontractors she works with, and is persistence about getting everything according to the design. Leslie was always there when needed thus making the process go very smoothly. She was timely in her ideas and in carrying them out. One thing any home owner desires it to stay within budget. Leslie was very cost effective in her selections and saved me quite a bit of money. I was happy with every aspect of her design talent. I recommend her without hesitation.
I was looking for a contractor last minute to do a quote on a possible kitchen renovation. I wanted to make sure it was possible to do before I made an offer on a house. I was surprised to find a contractor to come out at 5pm on a Sunday for an estimate but Coronado Construction did! I placed my offer on the house and look forward to setting up a date to renovate the kitchen, once the house closes. Thank you again!!
Fantastic! They found many defects from the previous contractors and at no extra charge did the repairs. All the workers had worked together for a long time and worked efficiently together. Roland the supervisor was very intelligent and problem solved quickly. BEST CONTRACTOR THAT I HAVE EVER USED. I would gladly hire them for any future projects.
Hired because i need a licensed / certified contractor to help with a few repairs. I had a short time frame to complete the job (selling). Great work, was able to trouble shoot the problem and complete the job during the limited requested time frame. Provided a detailed invoice! Only negative was late for appointment.
Once I submitted my request on thumbtacks website, I received several offers from local contractors to complete the job. After reviewing the submissions, I hired Benjamin Thurston to complete the project. He replaced four wooden patio posts at my home. The project was completed while I was at work and he kept me informed on the progress via text, sending me a photo once the repairs were completed. His response to my initial request and subsequent questions were expedient and efficient. His demeanor was polite and professional. I would not hesitate to hire him again.
I am sincerely pleased to recommend Stephen Matthews of Cabinet Answers. I wanted to update my kitchen without spending a fortune by rearranging some cabinets and adding an under-cabinet microwave oven. I had several contractors and handymen come to look a the job but none of them got back to me with a bid. Stephen was recommended to me by the brother of a friend. He came to my house and looked at the project and got back to me with a reasonable bid within 24 hours. Steve did an excellent job of figuring out the best way to use the cabinets I had, and he added many custom touches such as making and installing a shelving unit and pantry door which gave the finished kitchen a very up-to-date and polished look. I am extremely pleased with Steve's work and I have been very impressed with his strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, his professionalism and his positive attitude. I recommend Stephen Matthews of Cabinet Answers very highly and I plan to use him for another project in the future.
