I needed to retrofit my home to make it wheelchair accessible. After I finished putting in new flooring, new bathroom and new kitchen, i had a few dozen items that i needed a handyman to help me with. I found Travis, at "While You're Here." On the first day Travis was at my house, it became clear he was capable of doing so much more than just traditional "handyman" tasks. So, I doubled the list from about 25 to-do items to about 50. Then we got to working together, where Travis would come to my home every 3 or 4 days, which would give me a chance to buy the parts and pieces we discovered that i needed on his previous visit. Pretty soon my list was up to 75 to-do items and as it stands today, with about dozens of those to-do list items done and checked off, the list has now grown to 112 total to-do items, so another couple of days of work at my home at least. Travis and I collaborate. Sometimes I know HOW i want something to get done, and I tell Travis. But at other times, I say, "How would you solve this problem?" ... and we riff. And usually with some give and take, we come up with a solution. The most important thing to me, was that i determined early on i could trust Travis. I do not like anyone in my home who I do not trust to be there. When Travis broke a plastic part doing a faucet installation, he brought it immediately to my attention. When he tells me he will be at my house at Noon, he is there at Noon, or I get a call at 11 am telling me his morning job is running over and he'll be 30 minutes late. Trust is a 2-way street. So on the occasion when Travis would accidentally leave a drill or a plumb level at my house, I would email him when I found it, and he knew it would be waiting for him when he came to pick it up. I hope you would extend to him this same courtesy.

Travis did an excellent job repairing our stucco and we also had him repair a threshold that had water damage and needed to be replaced. He responded quickly to my request, he was punctual, reasonably priced, he was very pleasant to interact with and did a wonderful job!
