Had irrigation repair done, weed removal, grass cleanup and winter seeding, and goathead thorn removal performed. They did an excellent job removing about 90% of the weeds, killing the stray grass, and repairing the irrigation. Waiting for the winter grass to sprout.

Contacted them and met with Sam at the appointed time. As this was a rental home, he performed the tree removal and worked around the tenant's schedule. Would definitely call him in the future. You can't even tell the huge Eucalyptus tree was there!

You want a landscaping job done, call Jason! Our 30+ ft. Palo verde tree fell over in a monsoon and I immediately put in for tree removal service on Thumbtack. The tree had fallen into the road and needed to be removed ASAP. Jason responded within 15 minutes with an actual quote. He offered to come over the next day. Jason gave me a courtesy call 30 minutes before he arrived and worked tirelessly to get the job done. He worked all day (into the evening) to cut and clear all of the branches and roots to our tree. He also swept the sidewalk and blew the excess leaves off of our property. It was hot, the tree was big, but Jason worked to get it done. I'm so thankful I was able to have a trustworthy and hardworking person come out the next day and do such a fantastic job. Thank you, Jason! I would highly recommend Full Service Landscaping Company!

Start to finish this was a fantastic job. We had a gigantic, ugly tree in our front yard that looked like it was starting to die. From the photos I posted on Thumbtack, Brett was able to tell me the tree species, evaluate the health, explain why the tree had gotten to the place it had, and provided me with a quote for removal. The actual removal was incredibly smooth. Within a few days of posting on Thumbtack, Brett was at my house and ready to remove the tree. By the end of the morning the tree was gone, the stump was ground, and the area and debris had been cleaned up and removed. I was especially impressed with the way that they took care to protect my property, placing plywood to protect windows from stray debris, and taking extra time to remove limbs that could fall onto my house or property. They did a great job, and I highly recommend.

Devin was able to quote my tree removal from photos alone. He did a great job. He removed all fallen branches from the yard, which looked great. He will be my first call next time I need a tree removed. He was very carefull not to disturb any neighboring trees. Devin was courteous of my neighbors yards and trees which was important to me and even helped one neighbor out with a little trimming.

Danny was the first one to contact us which is a plus, and the price for a palm tree removal was in the middle, but we liked how he came across on the bid visit. The site was cleaned up and the tree is gone! We would use him again.

Bombero Landscape did a fantastic job. I needed a lot of trees and shrubs cut back and hauled away. He came the very next day and got everything done, plus a few more. He and his crew were professional and worked very quickly. I took his card and plan on recommending him to everyone.

Valley of the Sun has done routine maintenance (trees & shrubs) for us on a couple of occasions and we've been very happy with them. They're knowledgeable, they come when they say they will, do what they say they will, provide quality work, and charge a fair price. They also removed and replaced a malfunctioning irrigation timer for us recently and that was done well also.

Responded quickly to my inquiries & were able to come out next day to complete two large projects I needed done. The crew did a great job cutting back my large Mesquite tree and pruning two very tall palm trees in my yard. They made sure to check with me several times to see that the work was being done the way I wanted. I plan to use them again for other yard work I still need done and would definitely recommend!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to trim a tree?

The national price range for tree trimming is $270-$450. Tree trimming is often done by a professional arborist who is trained to safely trim and prune trees for both the health of the tree and the safety of the residents and their property. Trying to do your own tree trimming is not advisable unless you have the proper know-how. Tree trimming companies may charge an hourly rate for their services. The hourly rate may be higher or lower for different trees to reflect the relative safety measures, skill, equipment or people power needed to handle the job. For this reason, most tree services provide free estimates.

One example of an hourly rate for professional tree trimming services is $150 per hour. Costs may be under $100 or could be higher than $300 per hour, depending on variables such as proximity to buildings, health of the tree, height and diameter of the tree, and type of tree trimming desired. Geography and regional cost of living and regional costs to do business will also play a role in your tree removal costs.

How much does it cost to remove a tree stump?

Once you have a tree cut down, you’ll probably want to remove the tree stump as well. You may want the stump removed for aesthetics, the tree stump could be diseased, you might want to prevent regrowth, or you may find the roots are causing problems and need to be removed. Tree removal costs don’t always include the cost to grind out or dig out a tree stump after the tree has been felled and the trunk removed. The national average cost for stump removal ranges from $150 to $200. There are two main methods for dealing with tree stumps. In grinding, pros use a chipping machine to grind away the above-level tree stump until it sits just below the soil surface. Tree stump removal entails lifting the entire root ball of a tree out of the soil. Removing the stump will leave a hole in the ground and also take more time, labor and money than stump grinding. Here are some examples of average tree stump removal costs:

  • Stump grinding: $2-$4 per inch.
  • Tree stump removal: average of $60-$350.

The final price will depend on the stump’s size, condition, location and condition of the soil around it.

How much does it cost to remove a fallen tree?

If you need to have a tree cut down, have you planned what will happen next? Arborists often charge an additional fee to quarter and remove the fallen tree from your property, so anticipate this as part of your tree removal costs. You can elect to have the wood cut for use in your fireplace, or you may prefer to have it hauled away completely.

Tree removal costs may vary based on the height and the width of the felled tree. Size affects the labor required for removal, which will be reflected in the cost. For example, a tree service company may charge an additional $100-$120 to haul away the pieces of a felled tree. The service may cost as little as $75 in some regions and more than $150 in others. Regional labor rates, the cost of living and the cost to do business in your area will be reflected in your tree removal cost.

How much does it cost to cut a tree down?

When you’re ready to have a tree on your property come down, it’s time to call an arborist. The national average price range for tree-trimming costs is $270-$450. Tree removal costs can vary based on the height, diameter, location and health of the tree, and on whether you want to remove the stump. Height plays a major role in tree removal costs. Small trees, no more than 30 feet tall, are usually thinner in diameter and easier and safer for an arborist to manage. Removal of a small tree can cost anywhere from under $150 to over $450. Removal of medium-height trees, from 30 feet to 60 feet tall, could cost anywhere between $150 and $850 or more. Tall trees, typically 60 feet to 80 feet tall, may start at $500 or cost more than $1,000 to cut down. As the height and diameter increase, so does the cost.

Location is critical, too. Removing a tree in an open space is quicker and presents fewer obstacles than removing a tree that is growing flush to your house. Arborists can assess your tree and provide you with quotes based on the variables involved. For example, removing a medium-size hackberry tree that was growing too close to a home — the roots were damaging the home’s foundation — cost $1,500. This price included rope-down, house protection, tree quartering and stacking, and stump removal.

How much does it cost to cut down a massive tree?

If you have to remove a big, beautiful tree from your property, you’ll definitely need an arborist. Cutting down a massive tree without the proper tools or training can lead to major property damage or injury. A huge tree may need to be removed if it is diseased or dying and poses a safety risk, has suffered a blow from a storm and isn’t safe, or is growing into your home, your home’s foundation, your septic system, or your power lines. Removal costs for such large trees will depend on the tree’s height, diameter, and relative safety and accessibility, as well as whether you also need the felled tree and stump removed. The bare minimum for removal of a tree over 75 or 80 feet would be $1,000. This may not include tree quartering and removal or stump grinding. Stump grinding ranges on average from $2 to $4 per inch of the stump’s diameter. There is no set price as each situation is unique, so it’s always best to have an arborist give you a quote and detail exactly which services are included in the price.
