Bruce gave me the tools I need to help my dog become better behaved. I can already see a difference in behavior and I'm looking forward to teaching my dog new things that I have learned from Bruce.
I met Tom from K9katelynn through a friend that graduated from his training program with her two poodles. While I was a bit skeptical at first, as I had been down the private dog training route before, I was still a bit overwhelmed with my dogs lack of obedience and anxious behavior. Tom took the time to understand my goals as a dog owner of two minature poodles and my desire to have them fully and happily integrated into our family. His organized and methodical approach to step by step training made perfect sense to me. He helped me understand that with patience and loving praise, my dogs would very soon understand the newly placed boundaries that would nurture them physically, emotionally and mentally. I quickly put into action training techniques that he taught me to eliminate jumping and we experienced, immediate positive results. Later today we did our first "walk" in the pool, also marked with great success. Each dog swam on a lead for approximately 15 minutes with short rest breaks. As I sit here now, writing this review, they are both sleeping quietly in their own space rather than anxiously demanding my attention. I realize the success of a perfectly trained dog lies with my willingness to be prepared and consistent. I am willing to put in the hard work now for the long term gain of being a pet parent to two stunning, happy and well behaved mini poodles. Thank you Tom for your honesty and courage in showing me my well intentioned tough love and rigidity in raising these dogs wasn't aigned with my desire for them to exist harmoniously with our family. If you're considering dog training for your puppy or dog, please give K9Katelynn an opportunity to get to know you and your dog. I'm hard pressed to believe you'll find a more loving and patient trainer.
I luckily found Nate Dog Training on this site in a desperate search for a trainer after an incident at my home while I was out of town that left my Puggle with only one eye. I have a 9 year old Catahoula mix, a 10 year old Terrier mix and a recently added 9 year old Puggle mix, all rescues. The Catahoula has always been unpredictable with other dogs and had even been labeled "dog aggressive" by another trainer. When the decision was made to rescue the puggle, it wasn't taken lightly. We met several times and did trial house visits & sleepovers to be sure he was a good fit. The Catahoula had been great with him for about 6 months when all of the sudden she attacked him without warning, severely injuring his left eye beyond the point of saving, and he had to have it surgically removed. I knew I needed help fast. I spoke to 3 different trainers before hiring Nate. One who said she was dog aggressive & it would be nearly impossible to fix. Another who was a very expensive boot camp type situation. And another with the response that sometimes we just need to accept the dogs limitations due to age and breed characteristics and work around it. Meaning because she was a 10 year old Catahoula, her age & genetics wouldn't allow for change. That I should accept just not being able to have her around any other dogs. Thankfully I did not listen and kept on my search and found Nate. Nate came to my home and evaluated my "pack", as a whole pack which is exactly what I needed. Most trainers address just the dog with the issue and I learned that my dogs issue was part of a larger issue with the entire pack, not just her. I watched her properly meet and interact with his dogs quite easily and he gave me hope that my situation could be resolved. Be prepared to put in some effort, after all the problem is most likely something you're doing, or not doing. In my case, we tweaked a bit of our normal routine, needed some guidance on how to properly walk together and most importantly I had to establish I was in charge. I now walk all 3 dogs, together, around my neighborhood at a leisurely stroll. I used to powerwalk to try to keep them moving and would try to put in 2 miles a day at minimum to tire them out! My dogs no longer growl or try to bite me, the Terrier mix used to think she was in charge and have a lot of anxiety. I realized how much I had modified to not upset her, seems very silly now, after all its my house, not hers. We are on a continued journey to a happy, well balanced pack. Whether you are having a behavioral issue or are just starting out looking for training, this approach will work for you and I'd highly recommend Nate. Because he addresses your entire pack, in your own home, its not just obedience training...its dog psychology. The lessons you will learn from Nate will apply for the rest of your life to every dog you get. Thank you Nate for saving our pack!
Elisa was very helpful with our little dogs. She was very attentive to our needs. Elisa was very professional and patient and took the time to make sure we understood her methods of training. She focused on this so we could make sure our little dogs stopped jumping and barking. Elisa also coached us on how to train the dogs for obedience and to make sure we used and enforced the commands that are important to us. After our 8 lesson program, we can't say enough about Elisa and our results! We and the dogs are so happy and would highly recommend her to any and everyone that needs a great dog trainer! . Thanks again Elisa.
Kim, truly lives up to I Love Your Dog. You can tell from the minute you meet her that she has a very special way with dogs and that there isn't a dog out there that she can't have eating out of her hand in no time. You would be hard pressed to find a trainer or dog sitter that would treat your pet more like her own than Kim Thomas. Kim also has an online retail store at iloveyourdog.net. Her treats are all custom made by her and are healthy and reasonably priced. She carries a fun line of dog toys and many miscellaneous items. Kim Thomas IS customer service with a smile.
Anita is wonderful with my pets. In addition to caring for them she also tries to work with them on obedience. She is timely and kind.
I have tried obedience classes with my exuberant, hyper maltese previously with limited success. Cat trained my eccentric little pup to sit, wait, leave it, touch and come, as well as worked on her barking with one week of daily one-on-one training. It is obvious that she is very experienced and talented. I felt safe knowing how happy my puppy would be there with her big beautiful yard and friendly demeanour. I highly recommend Cat for dog training!!
We have four dogs. They're all different breeds, ages, and temperaments, and all obedience school drop-outs. We were struggling with aggression and territorial issues, and going crazy with their incessant barking. I was a little skeptical that another attempt at obedience training would be successful, but decided to try a private lesson with Andrew ( knowing I was not committed to continue if I wasn't happy). I was immediately impressed by Andrew's professionalism, knowledge and commitment to restoring a peaceful and respectful relationship with our dogs. With his guidance, the dogs are much more pleasant to have around and we are finally able to take them out in public without fear of them barking and lunging at other dogs. Andrew has shown us, in just five sessions, how to show our dogs love and attention the right way so they know what appropriate behavior is expected in return. Our bond with the dogs has grown stronger through training, and my family and I couldn't be happier with the results Andrew helped us achieve.
Renee is excellent with obedience training dogs. She knows what has to be done and is extremely proficient in every aspect. She is dependable, able to instruct with consistency and is responsive to the needs of the dogs all with loving confidence and patience. Renee is a true professional and I have seen such a positive outcome and great obedience with the dogs Renee has trained!
Star is an awesome trainer. She targeted the areas with our dog we were having challenges with, as well as general obedience. Our English Bulldog was immediately receptive to her style, and his training is going very well. Star's value is exceptional, and her quality of training far exceeded our expectations. I have already recommended her to friends.
I'm a first time dog owner and really had no idea what I was doing. We found Brandy on Thumbtack site and we decided to give it a shot. Max was already 7 months old so we had no idea what she would know so the idea of obedience training sounded wonderful. Brandy definitely taught the basics as well as the other things that we wanted with our dog. Brandy also talked through issues we've had, given great advice and tips and Working with Max on them has definitely made a huge difference. Max has learnt some amazing behaviors. He can sit, come, sleep and walk loosely on a leash. Our bond with our puppy is incredible and we owe a lot to Brandy for helping me overcome my fear of dogs. I recommend her for owners with dogs of any age. Brandy came to our house and totally understood my dog's dilemmas. She taught positive training techniques that actually worked! She helped us prevent Max from resource guarding and regain order in the house.
People comment on my well behaved and obedient dogs - it is because of training from Waggin' Train. Waggin Train helped me train my dogs based on my lifestyle and needs and my dogs' personality. Waggin' Train also helped me introduce an adopted dog into my home. Amazing results - the new dog is quickly learning and my other dog is loving her new sister quicker than I expected. Thanks Waggin' Train!
Had Bill train 4 of my dogs back to back. Night and day difference. Huskies, Carolina and a pitbull/boxer mix. He knows exactly what to do, when to do it, how to explain it. You won't find anyone else with his experience, expertise, depth of knowledge, education.... Or willingness to adjust. All around outstanding dog trainer and person. We also did interview 8 other trainers from "big companies" to small little guys. Bill did explain and give us exactly what we wanted and were looking for. No bs, real answers, real results. When neighbors ask "do you train dogs" you know your dog trainer taught you well haha. Amazing results.
David has worked with multiple dogs within my rescue and has done amazing. He is great with anything from basic obedience to helping dogs with aggression! He is an asset to the dog community.
My dogs had incredible training and were well taken care of during the times we had to board them. It is a pleasure taking them to this facility. I highly recommend it.
I needed some serious help with my pitbull who had become impossible to walk on a leash. He lunged at other dogs and pulled me wherever he wanted to. Anton Yablonsky evaluated my dog AND myself, came up with a plan and started right away change the interaction between Nigel and myself. He was professional and explained how we would do things during his training and why. His approach was firm, but kind and his love for what he does is quite evident. Four years later and I still have an obedient, well behaved companion. And four years later I know that Anton will be there to answer any questions I may have. I wouldn't use or recommend any one else or any other method of training.
Being involved with Schutzhund for the past 10 years, and more recently AKC, i have attended several seminars. But, it was not until a couple of years ago when i attended my first seminar with Uschi that everything came together. When our club was later asked who they would want to bring back for another seminar, everyone said Uschi, hands down! Since then i have traveled long distances to attend her seminars, and it is always well worth it! My relationship with my dog has improved and i am more confident as a handler. When no one else could help with training challenges with my dog, it was Uschi who took us to the next level! I am also now doing agility with my dog and Uschi has helped so much with that too! I always get compliments on my dogs performance! Uschi trains the handler and can read a dog better than anyone i have ever trained with! Not just one breed of dog, but ANY breed! Not just Schutzhund but AKC obedience and agility! I always look forward to training with Uschi!. She is patient but firm and always fun! Uschi is absolutely the best trainer i have ever worked with!
Alexander took our 1 1/2 year old Labradoodle for a month to train him on some behavioral issues. We've had him back now for more than a week, and, oh my, what a difference! We have a different dog...more well-mannered, obedient, social, and relaxed. Now it is up to us to follow through with all the training and instruction from Alexander. I know this is a big part of making Reagan a "good citizen." But we are thrilled so far. We will have a follow-up session or two at our house. I hope we measure up in keeping Reagan the new dog he has become. Alexander is great to work with...his approach is professional, intelligent, and humane. And patient!

Every "True" trainer is a blessing. Our services are there to keep dogs with their original owners and out of shelters. 80% of dogs dying in America's shelters were owner turn-in's, because of behavior issues with easily could have been trained "Away". Too often such owners state they did hire a trainer but it "Didn't work" or "He/She said it's not trainable". That is impossible! Unless someone's talking about a severe biter, a danger to society, a weapon of destruction on four paws, there's always success, no matter how big or small when it comes to training a dog. Even severe cases can be managed by trainers who specialize in such. Some manage to manipulate a biter into only biting if "Needed", re-directing such a dog to bite into a sleeve, possible learn to become a patrol dog as the handler knows to manipulate such a dog's aggressions, turning it into a life saving chance. Such trainers will correctly evaluate if such a dog is fit for work/sports.
