We built a house a couple years ago and had 2 different well known pest control companies service our property. Our property got sprayed each service for bugs etc...Since we are not from this area we were clueless to the fact that our builder's sub-contractor had NOT completed the AZ state mandated termite service! Our BRAND NEW house had been a feasting ground for these awful termite pests for almost 2 years! You'd think that one of the other "Professional" pest control companies might have discovered the termite tubes all around our home, but they did NOT! Upon our son's recommendation we called Environmental Pest & Termite. They discovered and notified us of the termite issue we had on their FIRST visit! If you're in the market for a truly Professional, efficient, dependable, affordable pest & termite company the these guys are it!!!

Very prompt. Did a good job getting rid of the ants. Still waiting for them to come back and spray for roaches. Wish they could've done both at same time.

I have them come over to exterminate ticks and cockroaches. It killed all the roaches but the ticks are still crawling. I think he needed to use stronger spray.

Wes, West Coast Pest Control, provides extremely professional services at a great cost. He helped my single mom and I through a bed bug scare, and was not only very knowledgeable, but an honest, hard working, and nice/friendly individual. He was able to come to our home the very next day and showed up right on time, even a bit early. He checked our bedroom and found no signs of bed bugs, but some spiders. He would have offered a cheaper service fee than originally quoted since he did not have to exterminate for bed bugs, but for the original quote of $120 he examined everything, sprayed our entire house (interior and exterior) with an insecticide for the spiders (and virtually all bugs), and even used special spray on my suitcase, etc. He gave us peace of mind that the bugs will be gone and not to worry! If I were to ever have to hire a pest control professional again, I would hire Wes with West Coast Pest Control in a heart beat. BEWARE OF OTHER PEST CONTROL COMPANIES TRYING TO CHARGE YOU HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS I can't recommend Wes highly enough. Do yourself a favor and give him a call when in need! Thanks again, Wes and the West Coast Pest Control team!! -Heather

John is prompt, punctual, and very knowledgeable in what he does. He came out to do bee removal and noticed that I had traces of bedbugs on an old matress being thrown out. He showed me what to look for and inspected some of the other matresses replaced. I am hoping they were dead before we aquired the matress that was only in my house for 3 days, but if I find any bedbugs in my house I will be calling him back out.

Leon was amazing. He was the only exterminator that gave me a fair price without a hidden agenda. Most asked for year contracts and were not up front about it. Not only did he keep in contact with me the entire time and he answered every question. Leon went above and beyond in every way. He explained everything he was doing and even gave me hints on how to prevent the pests from coming back. You can tell he truly cares for what the customer is going thru and has pride for his business. I will refer him to everyone.

Cheap and great service! They helped get rid of my pest problem. I'm so glad I got to save money instead of going to another's exterminator who charges double.

I have used Bug-Tec for about a year now and I am very pleased with the service I have received. The employees I have dealt with for my services are always professional and prompt. The prices are responsible and they care about the job they do. I have dog/cats and I feel that the chemicals they use in my home are safe for them. l would recommend Bug-Tec to my family and friends and anyone in need of an Exterminator.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
      • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
      • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
    • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
      • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

    • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
      • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
    • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.
