FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer 30-minute, 45-minute, and 1-hour lessons. My lessons are a fixed monthly price, which takes into account holidays and vacations. I teach in your home, or in mine. If you need a different payment plan, I'm happy to discuss options that work for you! I also occasionally have promotional offers. Students can also earn free lessons by referring new students that sign up. Books are not included, but are very affordable, and many scores are available online (legally) for free!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson, we cover what your personal goals are, and start to evaluate your learning style. From here, we can choose the type of music you want to learn, the concepts you need to cover in lessons, and the repertoire that will give you a well-rounded background in music.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Starting in the fourth grade, I attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, where I graduated with a certificate in instrumental music. I have a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music, and earned my Master of Music in Piano from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. I also attended the Chautauqua Institution's summer piano program twice. I have taken courses in Piano Pedagogy at both the undergraduate and graduate level. I also taught class piano at the Eastman School of Music and University of Rochester.
