My son has been a student at USAMA since January 2014; and as a mom, I joined him in May 2014. Explaining why this place is so incredible will be my pleasure. First of all, it is the friendliest, most inclusive place in Phoenix. Students are more of a family than just people paying a fee to earn a belt. Second, belts are earned, not given, gifted, or bought. Students progress fairly quickly in the lower belts if they have accomplished certain goals. Higher belts only test if completely ready, and often need more time to learn what is required. This is a black belt school with high standards, but the support offered each step of the way make it attainable for students who will work for it. Progression is key. Third, you will learn so much more than just kicks, punches, and techniques. You will learn life-changing skills that are applicable every day and in every aspect of your life. Parents become better parents. Students become better students. Humans become better humans. Fourth, although it is primarily a Taekwondo school, techniques in Kravmaga, Brazilian jujitsu and other martial disciplines are taught. Kickboxing happens five times a week. The entire school changes from one of discipline, learning and friendship to one of fast music, fat-burning cardio and friendship. It is a lot of fun with great people. The school also provides monthly boot camps and excellent bully-proofing seminars for kids and their parents - both free to the community. Finally, I appreciate the diversity of age, ability, and skills taught. I love it that an 8-year-old girl does martial arts with her grandma. I love it that a 12-year-old brown belt helps his 15-year-old brother earn his orange belt. I love it that an entire family can earn black belts together. I love it that some kids come to the school unable to speak to or look at other people, and after only weeks have confidence. I love it that people coming from other schools are assessed to determine where they fit it to the school and dont have to always start over. USAMA is a truly special place with some of the best people I have ever met.

I am student under John Nottingham at USA Martial Arts and have been working with him for 2 1/2 years. I have visited other martial art schools in the past and none of them come close with being compared the quality of services which is offered by Master Nottingham He wants only the best for his students and has dedicated his life in order to provide us with the best possible training. His VIPER program not only has changed my life and thinking, but has also saved my life. I have taken VIPER twice and the second was as a refresher. Through VIPER I could see how easily I could have been a victim the past. I now have the knowledge and confidence of how to avoid potentially danger situations and survive them. It is my wish for the future to continue working with Master Nottingham and pass on to others what he has given me, which is life.

Nearly three years ago a friend talked me into starting Kickboxing classes at USA Martial Arts in Phoenix. Then two years ago another friend talked me into starting the Martial Arts program (at the youthful age of 45). At that time I was a successful academic and professional in adequate physical condition, but thanks to the training and skillful challenges laid out by Master John Nottingham and his Instructors & Black Belts, I am now surpassing my previous levels of performance in those and many other areas of life. Most folks probably have not heard of him, for he is a truly humble man, simply walking the talk, modeling all that he teaches to his students, and pointing to the lessons he has learned from his wise teachers. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from him and hope to do so for many years to come. That is my testimonial. So, you may ask as someone who is considering trying a Martial Art, IMPACT/Phoenix Krav Maga, or Kickboxing class, what does that mean to you? First of all I would say to you - come and play/work-out with us, and see if you don't enjoy the classes and culture at USA Martial Arts. That seems to me to be a simple decision. On the other hand, if you like it, you will face a greater challenge - whether you are looking for a fun program to get fit and become a Kickboxing member, or you are looking for personal protection training and become an IMPACT/Phoenix Krav Maga member, or you are looking for Martial Arts training and become a Martial Arts student, you will receive excellent skills and conditioning training (physical and mental), and opportunities to grow in ways you cannot yet imagine.

USA Martial Arts supports and loves teachers and first responders! I started attending because of a "30-day free membership for those take care of our children" and I was sorely out of shape. The coaches worked with me and made this school a home for me and my kids, even hosting their birthday parties there! Three years later, I finally get to watch my oldest child earn their Blackbelt! USA Marital Arts has so many high caliber students and staff because they value and respect those in the community who help shape it!

We offer a no obligation trial course to tour the facility, meet the instructors and try our services to see if they are a good fit. We do an assessment and goals review to best help students achieve what they want for themselves or their children.
