She was picking up the basics within a couple weeks, and then doing more advanced work within a couple months. He both helped her with her school solos and taught her how to improvise. She’s worked with him on other genres as well. Highly recommend, as he is very encouraging and patient. Will be taking more lessons from him in the future."See more

Frank M. says, "Greg Klug is an extraordinary pianist and teacher, too! He was worth so much more. He was ,first and foremost, knowledgeable of his craft, to boot encouraging, professional, courteous, discreet, and patient. He plays the piano like the virtuoso he is. Need I say more. I sang hymns with musical accompaniment but only sang the Broadway songs I sang a cappella in the past. I don’t read music, and this was the first time I collaborated with a pianist. He provided such positive feedback to make me shine when I needed to. He instructed me when to pause, when to whisper, and when to start singing again when I didn’t catch the note I was supposed to begin on. He helped and gave a platform for a non professional, and perhaps mediocre , singer like me a chance to shine. He encouraged me to go on when I questioned myself. He encouraged me to sing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Mis when I was making invidious comparisons to other great singers who performed that piece. He said my voice was in the range . He said that with the utmost sincerity, too! I did not pull off one long sustained note at the actual concert, though, but it was decent enough. We were perfect strangers before this , but I felt comfortable with him right from the first meeting. We met 4 times before the concert. He knew when to push a bit and reviewed all 9 pieces I would eventually sing even though I wasn’t up to it, but he knew we would not get another opportunity to rehearse before the concert. Singing is healing for me and told me I was not singing the pieces for music’s sake, but music for meaning. I’m so pleased that I will collaborate with Greg Klug again in the next 3 months. He’s a gem. I recommend him wholeheartedly and without any reservation whatsoever. He does not disappoint."See more

Jared S. says, "Growing up, I had very little exposure to making music. I had no idea how to read music, I had no sense of rhythm, and I had basically no idea what music theory was about. With that said, I had been plucking on the guitar for around 10 years and had been working on some pretty complex songs. The results are that I could play some cool stuff really poorly (I remember trying to play the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean and someone thinking I was playing Flamenco). Austin was able to meet me where I was at. He spent time walking me through music theory, how to use a metronome and what different rhythms should sound like. He also walked me through the sheet music of several pieces that I had wanted to play for quite some time. I slowly developed confidence in playing the pieces that I loved. We shifted our conversation from just playing the right notes to expression. I found I loved playing guitar even more when I had control over how the guitar was speaking. I got a taste of what is means to be a musician. Austin's expertise and approachability both shine through in his lessons. He was always very kind and patient. I never felt dumb, even when my understanding of a topic was remedial, and I could consistently feel Austin's enthusiasm when working with me.
