FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I stay up-to-date with language software, and current research on learning and motivation.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Upon quitting graduate school, I turned to the things I held so close to my heart: people, my native language, and self-expression (writing and visual storytelling). It felt like I was finally home. I learned that the things I loved wouldn't lead me astray. And that's how this service was born.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
In 2014, I quit graduate school. I lived the years prior to that moment letting myself be defined by labels, trophies and nicely framed papers on walls. As a result, my identity as a person was attached to my accomplishments, and the moment my plans failed, I could no longer recognize who I was. Slowly but surely, the real Nieves came back: the one that tears up when she reads her favorite poems, the one that can write for hours as long as there is peppermint tea brewing, the one that can sit in a circle with her students and sing passionately to Spanish songs. The one that understands and celebrates failure as an essential part of life.
