Met Jim last night and started the very first lesson with my daughter. We were very impressed with his teaching style, knowledge of the game and enthusiasm! In one lesson, my daughter’s stance, posture and understanding of the mechanics of the golf swing have improved! We have decided to stay with Jim and have no doubt we made the right decision. We highly recommend Jim Carson!Sep 18, 2019VerifiedJim Carson's reply
As a teacher of golf, every now and again a student finds their way to our tee that possesses something more than most others. There is a relaxed freedom in their swing...an effortless grace to a connection with the golf club. Dani has that “X factor”. It’s special...and I’m honored to have the opportunity to help mold it. I’m truly looking forward to our work together. Thank you John, for your trust in me to develop her skills.
I think Jim is the right instructor for my golf lessons, I have confidence he will improve my game , Thanks .Sep 3, 2019Verified
First off I’ve only been golfing for 2 1/2 months and I just completed my 2nd lesson with Jim and I would like to show you the SIGNIFICANT difference in my golf swing. Jim has been absolutely wonderful in his dialog and fleshing our my golf swing. Jim talks through every single aspect of the golf swing and Jim is a true professional. I’m excited to finish all 6 lessons and play a round with Jim. I highly recommend Jim, it doesn’t matter if your raw new to golf or an amateur looking to go pro Jim is the perfect trainer if your looking to get hands on training a dedicated coach, also note Jim has two locations in IE & OC so it’s easy to set up a lesson.Feb 20, 2019VerifiedJim Carson's reply
I am truly humbled by your remarks Julian. High praise for a guy who has arrived on my tee with skills way beyond anything I've ever seen in just a little over two months of having a golf club in his hands. Only one word sums up what I have seen...AMAZING!
Jim is really easy to work with. I learn a lot from my first lesson yesterday. Thanks for the great chipping and putting tips. I am confident those tips will help me score lower on my next round of golf. I look forward to work with him in the future.Jun 9, 2019VerifiedJim Carson's reply
Thank you Sherry. You've got a lot of talent in that bag of yours. Hope to continue our work together.
I had my first lesson this weekend, and can't wait for the next one. I liked Jim's approach to starting with a complete fresher to golf, he is a thorough professional, understanding and patient.Feb 25, 2019Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My lesson rates are $50 for adults and $40 for junior golfers. A series of six costs $270/$225 (a savings of 10%). As well, each purchased series comes with an option to substitute the sixth lesson with a one hour "Playing Lesson" given on the golf course at no extra fee (except for cart rental of $17) a value of $180.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First I like to determine whether my student has a desire to improve their physical swing (e.g.: driving range mechanics) or enhance their mental skills (e.g.: playing lesson). I like to use the illustration of a simple mathematic equation to tell the story of golf..."A + B = C." A...represents your ability to swing the golf club. B...reflects your level of thinking on the golf course. And together the sum of both parts equate to your ability to play golf...C. If you increase any part of A or B you get better. So the question is...where do you want to spend your time and money...on the driving range learning how to swing or on the course learning how to score better with what you've got? Every golfer needs to consider the upside to either option. Newer players to the game typically turn to swing mechanics to improve but I think the better alternative for those that are intermediate/advanced is out where the game is actually played. That's not to downplay the relevance of good swing technique...it is essential. And I have the acumen to help you build your golf swing properly. But there's nothing more rewarding to me than to leave you with insight that immediately transfers to the score on your bottom line...and that's achieved by way of a playing lesson. Two hours on the golf course with me can save you years of time in development during play. If our work goes to the lesson tee, first we discuss a little bit about their playing background and/or what they're hoping to improve upon in our work together. Then I'll ask my student to hit a few shots, during which time I will formulate a corrective course of action to improve their performance. We'll discuss alternative swing styles based on their individual body style, age and physical limitations. Then we'll get to work with repetitive swing drills and develop a routine for their ongoing practice efforts. Every participant leaves with a thorough understanding of exactly what they need to do and how to do it. Furthermore, it's all documented on video for their enjoyment and learning experience.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Forty years of worldwide competitive experience, designer of the innovative GolfLog and Practice Ledger, host of "Video Golf Concepts" and creator of TAGSOD, the Talk About Golf System Of Development.
