I pay attention to what others are doing in the field, attend many diverse musical performances, and seek a variety of performance opportunities.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Singing was a life long love from childhood. It took many years and several careers before I realized I could pursue it as a career, and when I did, I was ready to embrace it wholly.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am the vocal director of a jazz big band. Recently, we purchased a song which called for a vocal quartet to perform with the big band. I put together the quartet, rehearsed them away from and with the big band. We then performed the piece in concert to a very appreciative audience.
