I couldn't have asked for anything better in terms of service & experience. I thought my door repair project would be a difficult one, but the service pro made quick work of it. He was very professional, (called ahead to make sure I was home) & chill. I pointed him to the door that needed repair. He quickly assessed the situation & gave me some options. After he explained my options in a friendly easy to understand manner, I picked one & he took it from there. I would definitely hire this service again if I needed to.
Very friendly an thorough. I watched the whole process and was very glad I hired him. I would have put multiple holes in my wall trying to get the location right. Asked him to look at some broken casement windows as well and he didn't BS me. Admitted he didn't know how to repair them but took pictures to see if he could get some advice on what to do. Hoping he can figure it out because I'd like to have him work here again.
I'm very happy that I was connected with TJ and House to Home on Thumbtack. I recently bought a home and initially requested a quote for the installation of two new toilets. I then asked TJ about some additional work and we set up a few projects. TJ's prices are reasonable, his quality of work is excellent, he has a great attitude and he's extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of home repairs. He's helped me focus on items that need immediate attention because they affect the structure and integrity of the house and has also informed me about things to consider down the line. Things have gone so well that in addition to the toilets, he's installed a kitchen faucet, a cooktop and hood, which required extensive repairs of the venting, gas, and electric lines (former owner did a lot of shoddy stuff around the house). He's currently installing a new microwave above the wall oven and reframing the cabinet to accommodate it. The next project will involve some plumbing updates. TJ is in demand and has a busy schedule, but he's always very responsive, always shows up and leaves things cleaner than when he found them. He also goes above and beyond the call of duty when he sees a problem and fixes it just because. For example, he installed a new light fixture in the laundry room because the old one was an eyesore. Without hesitation, I highly recommend TJ for all of your home repair needs.
MC drywall did ceiling repair in my home. He was very reasonably priced. Came into home have an estimate and we were able to schedule work quickly. He did a great job w the ceiling repair and painting and even patched up some unexpected projects we through his way. Will use service again and offer card to friends and family.
Larry did an excellent job with the small repair I needed him to do. Would definitely hire him again.
Peter was awesome. Very quick to get back; able to set up appointment the very next day; arrived and did an excellent job; left no mess behind. He is extremely pleasant, kind and professional. I will contact him again, if I need any window repairs done. Thank you Peter.
Arrived on time and went straight to the job. I would recommend him to anyone that asks. He also provided repair recommendations that the HOA should pay for.
Great experience with Kent's team in my bathroom ceiling drywall repair. I had a toilet leak upstairs that caused water damage to the dry wall. Kent did fantastic work: 1) Showed up on time, if you have worked with other contractors you know how rare it is for folks to just show up when they said they would. 2) great workmanship and attention to detail, work took only an hour but the patch was flawless, the texture looked like the original. 3) fair price, about $50-150 less than my other quotes. 5+ stars!
Hector did a great job on my drywall repair. It looks like the whole never existed!
I purchased some office furniture from Ikea. Jerome came out to assemble the furniture. While at my office he also did some minor repairs and rehung a couple doors that were not working correctly. When the time comes I will definitely call him again!
Jim was great to work with. Very logical and communicative. Got the job done - no problem. And so quickly!! He came to check out our situation on Saturday afternoon within hours of me posting the job. He came back on Sunday morning to make the repair. I’m very pleased. Definitely recommend.
Derrick did an excellent job of repairing my door. And he guarantees his work.
American Castles Mike To the RESCUE!!! The water heater at my rental property burst on a Friday afternoon causing some major damage to the house. The renters were furious because their items got damaged and the house wasn't inhabitable after that. On the inside, the bathroom wall and under stairway closet were all soaking wet and drywall/carpet/padding had to be removed immediately to prevent mole build up. On the garage side where the water heater located, the entire wall was destroyed. so I called my home insurance who provided me with their preferred plumber who quoted an additional $540 out of pocket on top of what the insurance was going to cover just so he can bring up the water heater installation to code! He told me that it will take him 1+ week to order the water heater (duh...get one from Home Depot take only 1hr...which is what Mike did) and that he can install a temporary water heater and will charge $137/wk! He also referred me to a water damage restoration company which I was not too happy with either. Since it was an emergency and I went with that company. They came in and ripped out all the wet drywall without caring for any molding; especially for garage doors and closet doors! It seemed like what ever the water heater didn't damage, they did. They also broke my water heater intake shut off valve. damage the water heater over flow copper pipe. All I can say is I will not use them again! Back to the plumber, something was smelling fishy about his quote and so I called and questioned this plumber. His response was "Well, I will need to flush out the gas line and calibrate your water pressure...upgrade to the new California safety quote...put in earthquake straps...install new vent line since the new water heater nowaday don't use the old vent line!". I was not convinces so I started to Google for good local contractor and AMERICAN CASTLES (Mike Tay is the owner) came up from Thumtack along with few others from other websites. I contacted them and they came in and provided me quotes. Mike was the last one I contacted. He arrived within 30min. He checked out the damages and explained to me what needs to get done sequentially to get everything back in proper operation for my tenants. Mike is very knowledgeable and very patient in explaining things. I told him what the plumber had said, he laughed and told me the whole thing was a rip off and a scam! Another crock of bull**** and advised me against it. He told me to call my insurance company to inquire about using other plumber. Sure enough I was offered the "cash out" option which I didn't even know was available. I took that option and went with Mike for the repair. Mike knows how important it is for my tenants to get the hot water running again once the water damage restoration company completed the clean up/dry out the area (took 1 week). As soon as that company removed their equipment, Mike had his crew come in the next day (Saturday) to repair the garage dry wall and finished the installation of the new water heater and brought it up to code on safety on Sunday! He even added the water pan and installed drain pipe for me. I didn't even know such a thing exists (talk about quality...he treats it like repairing his own home!). The best part is his charge for the whole job including new water heater, earthquake straps, valve, drain pan, vent and new connection is far way less than what that plumber was going to charge me. I loved the fact he took the time to show me how things should be done up to code and what works for my situation instead of just giving a price and walking away. He did an awesome job! Unfortunately my landlord insurance's deductible was so high, I asked Mike to give me a quote for fixing the damage in the garage and inside the house. Mike's quote was very competitive and the best part is he is always willing to work with me knowing my situation (thx Mike). My bathroom paint is 16 years old so it was a challenge to match the paint for the new wall. After only quoting me for painting a small wall inside the bathroom, Mike decided on his own to paint the entire bathroom without charging for it. Now that what I call TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR WORK AND STICKING TO YOUR WORD!!! My summary is, Mike successfully completed the entire job and installation in four days. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone and will definitely be using and referring him to everyone I know.
It was a pleasure meeting Mark, a true professional. I had a variety of issue that needed attention. Without any direction from me, he contacted the manufacturer of a faucet that needed repair, and made arrangement to have the replacement party to my home at no cost....very cool. I've already planned additional jobs with him....so happy I found him.. I would recommend him...."Big Time"!
Wow George gave me a great quote for shaving 7 closet doors and putting them on track and to replace a toilet. The day scheduled to do the work, he managed to fix my refrigerator lines and repair a drawer as well as the closet doors and replacinh the toilet. He had to go look for some parts at a couple of stores and got the job done. We're very happy with his service. We will definitely call him again.
Jerry was one of several who bid a job to repair masonry, stucco and paint a wall for me. I am extremely pleased that I hired him. He was punctual and polite in his responses and consistently showed up early or on time for the promised work. His work was neat and respectful of others, as well as professionally done. I definitely recommend him.
Jerry did a fantastic job with my project. He removed a built-desk, repaired and replaced baseboards and painted. The room looks brand new again. I would recommend him to anyone.
The repair of a window was great! And very quick.
Contacted George with a list of projects I had in mind, but needed a price to see how much I could get done and what the costs would be. George came over to give me a quote and a breakdown of costs of each project and payment schedule, which I appreciated. We went ahead with the work. One of the bigger projects we had George and his team do was to knock down our existing patio and concrete and put up a new one. Old patio was 15' x 20' we did a new 15' x 40' patio. Very happy with the quality of work and the patio itself. Other projects include removing bulkhead and putting up new drywall, installing can lights, new roof, and putting up new doors. I was most impressed by two things - 1) the open communication between us, and 2) the professionalism and politeness from George and his workers. Even little hiccups were properly communicated and worked out. I will definitely be working with them again.
Fausto was great. My original scheduled handyman flaked and I needed someone same day. Fausto showed up that morning and spent the entire day fixing all my needed house repairs. I would recommend Fausto for anyone who needs a reliable, fast and experienced person.
John did a great job repairing an exterior door that was extremely difficult to open and shut. The work was excellent, he worked quickly, and despite a large amount of sanding, the house was cleaned up beautifully.
