I love to sing it´s just fun for me and it makes me happy. But I´m not a singer and don´t even want to go up on stage. I´m trying to be a songwriter andv I was just visiting a workshop at the songwriting school of LA. And on this evening I met Jan the first time. At the moment I´m travelling and I never thought that I would stay in one city that long. But at this evening when Jan made this workshop I swear you guys, I hadn´t laugh that much for a long time. When she asked me if I´d like to come to the class I just had to say yes. It was a heart decision and I don´t regret it! This woman is a very talented singing teacher and also songwriter with a lot of experience, for sure. But she´s much more than that because you can have a REALLY bad week or day, but the second you walk into that class this woman saves your day! She ´s just so funny! Every week I´m looking forward to that day. Of course the most people only want to learn how to sing or to perform but I think it ´s also important to feel comfortable and accepted. And she gives everyone the feeling of being accepted and she takes care of every student. And just to be clear, of course it´s not all about fun and of course you´ll learn A LOT. I just want to say that you´ll be enjoying it to learn from her ;) Thank you Jan

I had sessions with two other vocal teachers before getting to Rena. I wanted to be sure that I was investing in a coach who would give me the kind of results that I was looking for. After our first lesson, I knew that she was my teacher. One of the biggest desires that I had for singing was to find my OWN voice--what made me unique...and in the first lesson, Rena pulled it out of me and helped me learn how to celebrate myself and embrace ALL aspects of me--my BIG, DEEP voice included. Her method is slower than the curriculum most teachers present, but I am in no rush. I desire to have a solid foundation to build on and to keep the health of my vocal chords in tact. Rena has a great ear and is able to point out nuances that can become bad habits if they aren't stopped now. She is also very encouraging--I came into her studio open to where my voice would take me, I just knew I wanted it to lead me into singing as my full time career and Rena is so encouraging and honest about my prospects moving forward. My breathing is getting better, my upper register is being reestablished and I am overall ecstatic to be working with such a pro. I drive twice a week from Hermosa Beach to her location--and it isn't a far drive for such a quality teacher. I am excited to continue to grow my voice and nail some key auditions in 2016. I highly recommend Rena for the student who is looking for quality, excellence, patience and a solid foundation to grow upon.

Paul is one of the greatest music teachers there could be. I've studied with him for about two years -- my skill and understanding have really developed. He's a great player and has a million ways to explain things so if you don't get it one way, there's always another approach.

We decided to chose Brian for my teenage daughter's beginning guitar lessons due to his willingness to teach her the type of songs that she wanted. Right away he connected with her and her music. He taught her the theory behind playing guitar as well as teaching her the tricks and skills of how to play the guitar. His practices were enjoyable and not just rote. She learned very quickly and therefore stayed excited about learning. Brian was always very complementary and encouraging. Brian also helped us buy useful equipment like a tuner, etc. She always felt safe and comfortable. We would highly recommend Brian as a guitar teacher.

Debbie Carter is an amazing vocal teacher. She has a great attitude and is very patient. She made me feel welcomed and comfortable the minute I walked into the room. She has given me advice on how to use and care for my voice and has made me feel more comfortable with singing high notes (those can be scary!). She is very punctual and starts and ends classes on time. I have had a very positive experience with her and hope to continue with classes. Thank you, Debbie for your time, teachings, and wisdom!

Marquita Waters is by far one of the best vocal instructors around. Although her and I are used to playing different genres of music, Marquita is able to adapt to any style to benefit the performer. Most importantly, Marquita teaches the singer how to put on a performance and captivate the audience's attention. Highly recommended.

Thomas is a great piano teacher who is incredibly professional, patient and helpful. He is fantastic at noticing deficiencies in your playing and is able to get you to fix them without ever being overbearing or too harsh. He's incredibly patient, knowledgeable and incredibly flexible in his schedule. There were times when I had to change my lesson times and he always made sure to find time for us to get our lesson in. Thomas offers the best lessons for the best price! Whether you're a casual player or looking to help improve your chops, Thomas should be your first choice.

Jamie is an excellent music tutor. You can see her love of music and learning and her desire to share this with others. She is very professional in all her communications and arranging sessions with us. Jamie has a calm, warm and focused approach when teaching our young son and I really appreciated the great summary she gave me at the end each session. She even provided me with tips and games to play in between sessions to continue the learning. I would definitely recommend Jamie others looking for music tutoring!

Love David! He was my first electric bass teacher, I started taking lessons from him when I was about 15. He's very practical and casual, you know he's not gonna make you play scales up and down with a metronome for the entire lesson. A more typical lesson would be David showing you how to apply a certain mode, or pattern to a particular tune or situation. Then he'll turn on the drum machine and you'll take turns soloing and holding down the groove. He's very inspiring as a teacher, partially because he's such a good bass player and also because he treats his students like serious musicians. After learning from David for a few months I really started to get into music and began practicing rigorously. Great guy and great teacher! Highly recommended!

Howard Richman is not a piano teacher...he is a LIFE CHANGER. I went to him to learn piano...but realized that the lessons I learned studying piano with the MASTER were not merely lessons in music....but lessons that helped me see outside the paradigm in all areas of my life. Often, as adults, we "come back" to our music...to study what we have been "wanting to get back to" for years. I learned that this is often a time of great change and evolution for us personally. Howard, being so intuitive, knows how to tune in to each individual's needs.... and empower them to EMPOWER themselves. He is a BRILLIANT pianist, composer and master teacher. I've watched him perform miracles with young children who struggled with other teachers who simply wanted to teach "by the book." Howard is always able to find your inner talent and abilities, possibly that are even unknown to you...and he can creatively, intuitively and intelligently create a course of action that will leave you amazed! That's why you are reading SO many wonderful comments here about him. If you are lucky enough to get to study with Howard, it will change your life!...and btw, I can now play a mean Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata"....Thank you for everything you taught me Howard Richman! I've had a handful of music teachers throughout my life and Dory is head and shoulders above the rest. He has a knack for explaining the concepts of music theory with great clarity and enthusiasm. In addition to his proficiency at playing and teaching music, Dory is also very well-organized and attentive. His lessons are focused and purposeful. If you're at all thinking of learning piano, guitar, or music in general I cannot recommend Dory enough!

Brandon is a consummate professional in his music instruction. He teaches his students not just to play the violin, but to enjoy the violin. In just a few months my ten-year-old was reading music and playing scales. A year later, she is playing songs and will soon do her first recital. Brandon is a great music teacher. We highly recommend him.

I would say taking Charles' lessons is one of the greatest experiences to me. I am a college student but I'm not music major, I am looking for some vocal coach who is professional to help me adjust my voice to be sound and clear and also touch with the concept including music theory, head voice, chest voice etc. I am surprised at how professional Charles is. He always designs the lesson plans which is best for me, he is also patient and well organized about class materials. He gives me very kind advice and guide me step by step start from the very beginning like breath and how to pronounce. The lesson is interesting which contains various styles. I am pretty sure that he can find the best practice way for you. Charles have concert in DC areas regularly, which represents his professional skills. He is such a nice guy who is easy to get along with, if you have your specific needs, just talk to him, I'm sure he will help you in an efficient way. The rate is also reasonable. Thanks, Charles! I really learned a lot from the lessons.

Recording a new song of mine with Andrew has proven to be a fantastic experience! The quality of the recording session... Andrew's taste and knowledge of music... the way he communicates to bring out the best in you and your song... well, it's all: as good as it gets! I would very highly recommend Andrew to anyone seeking a recording professional of the highest degree of empathy and musical/engineering abilities.

Ralph has been teaching piano to my children for 12 years, and is a wonderful teacher! He started with my son, who is now in college, and continues with my 15 year old daughters. He is skilled and knowledgeable, and is patient with his students. He has always been an instructor who motivates, and has instilled the love of music in my children to the point that they walk over to the piano and play to relax and entertain themselves. I would recommend him highly to anyone, young or old.
