Kelly is a masterful musician and excellent pedagogue. She is extremely patient but also firmly committed to making sure you improve your skills. Most importantly she is a lovely person and very affable, a joy to be around. I highly recommend Kelly for your piano lessons whether you're starting from zero or you have 20 years of experience.

About

-BEST OF 2015- For Earning great reviews from Thumbtack Customers, 5 starts! I have been playing piano for 28 years and teaching for the past 8 years. I have gone to one of the most famous conservatoire in Japan. It is Kunitachi Ongaku Daigaku (it is like Juilliard) and studied piano and composing for 12 years, and I am 34 years old now. Also, currently I am an official instructor at Music Teacher LA. But this is my own direct business here at Thumbtack. I'd like my students to be able to enjoy playing amazing songs or songs that you want to be able to play. I can help you very much to make you improve! To have every one of my students to achieve their goals for them to love and enjoy music. As a being a teacher, I can continue to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and contribute as much of value as I can. I always try my best to find the best way for them to practice individually. I also incorporate rhythm, reading and hearing training besides piano lessons. These really helps understand music and improve to play piano especially for the beginners. I also play guitar for 15 years professionally. I started playing piano serious at early age of my life, and it was a smooth transaction for me to learn guitar since I have got a perfect pitch. Currently, I am in the band with Cherie Currie from the Runaways and have an original band. My original songs were played on TV shows in House M.D. on Fox and the movie The Last Call. I have toured US and Canada several times. In addition, I can teach you how to play guitar as well. I can tune your piano as well! I could also teach in Japanese.

About

I am still a piano student of Dennis's and have really enjoyed my lessons with him this past year. Being a teacher myself, I find Dennis's teaching skills to be highly effective and motivating. He provides me with a great balance of education in music theory and technique and is extremely open to the pieces of music I want to learn. My piano lessons are a wonderful gift to myself!

About

I am what you would call a beginner+ when it comes to piano. I had taken lessons in middle school and stopped because I couldn't sit still. I bought a small electronic keyboard after college and would hit the keys here and there when I wanted to learn some pop song or something that caught my ear on the radio. I knew I lacked a good foundation and never really get to the next level without solid instruction. What I found in Kevin King outdid all of my expectations. From the start you can tell that he is passionate about what he does and when he plays the piano it's difficult not to become totally entranced. I was one of his few students that was not trying to play professionally so he had to significantly tone down his piano vocabulary but once he figured out my level he was able to keep me right in the pocket of always feeling challenged while not ever making me feel discouraged. He has a process that he has honed over the years and if you want to learn how to play the piano the right way he is the one to go to. You will learn the fundamentals of the instrument and how to create the building blocks of scales, chord progressions, tempo, and dabble in all the different musical styles. If you are looking just to learn specific songs he incorporates that as well - will provide you sheet music, instruct you how to play the piece dynamically and add a wonderful array of extra bells and whistles that you can incorporate into the song and wow those around you. Sign up and learn from Kevin...you will not be disappointed.

About

Nate has taught piano to all three of our boys, who now are age 8, 12, and 15. He also led our oldest son's garage band. He has a talent for communicating with kids, where he's fun but also keeps them on task, all while remaining flexible as well. I can see intellectual kids especially liking him. We're big fans of NDT.

About

I wanted a teacher that could work with an older adult who not had piano lessons since childhood. After many years, I wanted to challenge myself by getting back into piano and I wanted to bring music back into my life. I was a bit nervous about making the commitment and about the time investment that would be required. I also didn’t know a good teacher so I asked around. Howard’s name came up. He was recommended as a patient and knowledgeable teacher that would do wonders with students. Howard’s approach is not the conventional one that I experienced as a child. He presents many types of approaches and uses lots of tools and techniques to build your skills and understanding of the structure of music. Now, I’m stretching myself to learn, remember and apply these skills and it feels really good! I actually enjoy practicing my piano. Now thats a testimony to Howard’s influence! If you are looking for a teacher that can accommodate your needs, encourage and inspire you, meet Howard and try him out. I’m confident that you will be very pleased with him as a professional and as a teacher.

About

My daughter started with voice lessons with Tash who was EXTREMELY patient with her. She didn't go straight into teaching her about her voice though. She wanted to help her with voice training and I could see the improvement. She really enjoyed being in the same room with her and I felt I made the best decisions. I highly recommend EBD Music lessons
