FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm always listening to music and checking out what other drummers are doing. My students also keep me up to date on newer music that I may not be exposed to.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I took private drum lessons from 5th grade through college. I guess it's just natural when I see someone play - I want to help them and pass along all the tips and secrets I've learned.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Weekly one-on-one lessons at your house. I incorporate playing along with an ipod, reading music, technique, ergonomics and warm up as well as a wide variety of musical styles. And... always try to make it fun! Everyone is different and I try to cater the lessons to each individual. I typically use two method books. One strictly for snare drum / technique. A second book for drum-set. Students are encouraged to keep record of their practice time each week. I also prefer to travel to you - students do best when playing on their own drums.
