Everyone advised me against learning swimming as an adult but I took a chance with Veronique as my swimming-instructor and she proved everyone wrong. I am a BIG person and she made me overcome all my phobias and helped me learn. She is a really patient teacher and respects your limitations, and yet pushes you subtly to get out of your comfort zone. I am really happy that I found her and I highly recommend her as a swimming instructor for both kids and adults.The best part is she slips in a little bit of workout and Yoga tips into your swimming class, which helps you A LOT once you are in water and actually swimming :)
Bill is among the most inspiring fitness professionals I have met. I have attended his yoga classes and his Yamuna ball rolling classes, and I have been relieved of severe back tension and pain through his thai massage. So, how is he inspiring? His style is not that of the "rahrah," over-muscled, steroidy body builder. Bill's style exudes strength and power that comes from his solid spiritual core. So whether he's guiding me through a yoga session, a Yamuna session, or even weight training, I feel growth, strength, and in healing in my spirit as well as my body. Bill's unique life experience and perspective makes this possible.
Justin is AWESOME. Working with justin has been a lot of fun. Not only with strength trainining, but flexibility and core training with yoga and acroyoga with my girlfriend and I. I go to justin to boost my workouts and mix things up. I'm a functional movement based sports doctor and I can tell you that I'm impressed with Justin's approach to exercise and wellness. No matter how much you think you know, you'll still learn more, reach your goals faster, and benefit from seeing an experienced and knowledgeable trainer like Justin. He's also big on nutrition, which is fundamental to being and feeling healthy. His company Kula Wellness also does meal prep which is pretty cool. 5 stars!!
Jared is great! He is fun to work with. I have lost 8 pounds, many inches and feel wonderful. He has a holistic approach and this is what I was looking for. He has a strong background in yoga and I enjoy the mix of strength training, yoga and massages. I highly recommend Jared!!
Working with Jessa has been such a wonderful experience! I hadn't considered private/small group yoga sessions before finding her on Thumbtack but it has really expanded my understanding & interest in the practice. She is incredibly mindful and is always sure to check in with you to make sure you're getting the most out of her instruction. If you have any injuries or soreness she will show you alternative poses and makes sure to keep the sequence challenging enough but still within your ability. It's really cool to practice yoga specifically curated to your level - not like gym yoga or giant "all level" classes. If you're into it, she will also open practice with a short guided meditation to get you grounded, I hadn't had much experience with that before but I've found it to be quite beneficial! Lately I've been going to her new group sessions at the Felton Commons across the street from New Leaf on Highway 9 in Felton and it's a cool small class that is "all level" but it's still intimate enough so you still get the personal attention of a private lesson. I love it! Jessa had been such a gift and she makes me love yoga more all the time :)) do yourself a favor and try her out!
As a fellow yoga instructor and student of Amanda's classes I could not recommend her more highly. During our time together at "the source" of yoga, Rishikesh in India, Amanda's holistic teaching of yoga made me feel like a better yoga practitioner, more in tune with what was happened externally but also internally. What most impressed me and the reason for loving Amanda's yoga style is: 1. she is committed to her students 2. she practices what she preaches 3. direct but warm approach 4. she offers so so much more than just yoga postures 5. her thirst for knowledge 6. most importantly, for me at least, she is committed and dedicated but she doesn't take an all or nothing approach. She truly follows the yoga as a journey approach.
I've loved yoga for a long time and I really wanted to deepen my practice. I took Holly's vinyasa flow class at Equinox. I loved her style and we decided to work together one on one. Now Im doing hand stand at the wall! I really appreciate how Holly breaks down the poses and, even when Im thinking "no way", she always helps me experience what part of the pose i CAN do. Its super fun and empowering.
Christine recently started coming to my house to help me learn yoga. She spends a lot of teaching me stretches, which is very helpful before doing yoga poses. Her simple guidance has been invaluable in improving balance. Love her calm, positive energy.
I am so grateful to have found Apoorva More Yoga on Thumbtack. I was in need of private in-home yoga due to an acute case of Adrenaline Fatigue caused primarily by stress. Apoorva has taught me restorative poses and breathing exercises that have been helpful in relaxing me and reducing my stress level. I would highly recommend her for anyone desiring to develop or strengthen a yoga practice. Besides being kind, empathetic and nonjudgmental, she is very skilled in modeling and teaching yoga so that one can optimize the benefits. Under other circumstances, I would not have thought of private instruction, but now realize that I have gotten more out of my sessions with her than the various classes I have taken over the years.
My experience with Ferox Yoga was a very pleasant and informative experience. When I scheduled a private session with Claire, she was very quick to respond, and she provided me with a questionnaire that addressed all of my needs, goals, and noted any injuries I have/had. I am a male individual in my late twenties, and I lift weights about 4-5 times a week. I don't have too much experience in yoga, and I'm not all that flexible. A few years back, I had spent about five months recovering from a lower back injury from doing deadlifts improperly. Since then, I've recovered, but I've noticed a lack of strength in my lower back which I noted in Claire's questionnaire. Once we began the private lesson, she assured me I didn't require any previous experience. We focused heavily on my form and breathing through many of the starting poses, and she showed me a lot of different exercises that helped to strengthen my lower back. Claire was extremely supportive and patient throughout the entire lesson. Also, her bubbliness and kindness are one of a kind! My first experience with Ferox Yoga was amazing. By the end of the session, my entire body felt energized, and I had gained more knowledge from Claire about yoga than I'd ever had. She was a great instructor, and she did such a great job accommodating me considering my lack of experience and past injury. I would highly recommend her regardless if you are an avid yogin, recovering from an injury, or totally new to yoga. She is great!
Amanda Michael, Yoga Student As a former ballerina, I have dabbled with yoga my whole life. However, it was not until I joined Yoga Pod that I fell in love with yoga, and Denelle is a huge part of why. Denelles class is something I look forward to each week; her energy and passion for yoga are contagious! Denelles practice always challenges the mind, body, and soul, but she balances this with a sense of humor and light-heartedness. Her dance background is apparent in her beautiful flows and poses, and she does a great job of breaking down the poses so that all levels can comfortably participate. She is a wonderful teacher and I leave her class energized and ready to take on the week!
Mariana provides a highly personalized experience that makes me feel real progress. I initially started working with her because I wanted to push myself during workouts, but was amazed at how her focus on form, breathing, and nutrition have pushed me to another level. I used to think the formula was all 'no pain, no gain' - Mari helped me focus on new habits (like static stretching and yoga) that help me recover faster and perform stronger. I have been working with her for over 1.5 years and can confidently say she helped get me to my prime athletic condition. Cannot reccomend enough!
For me, Ericka is one of those people that you feel fortunate when you cross paths with them in life. I met Ericka when she started teaching yoga at my company twice a week more than two years ago. She is easily relatable, down to earth and doesn't take her self too seriously - but she definitely knows her yoga. Our class is a great combo of folks who take yoga seriously and folks who are there for work yoga. I appreciate how she tries to tailor each class based on what types of ailments each of us have that day. But more than that, Ericka has been a friend and an awesome teacher for me personally, so if you have the chance to meet her and work with her - I would highly recommend it. Gabe
I have known Alia for a very long time now and worked with her for about two years. She was the perfect trainer for me because of her background in Yoga. I have back and knee problems from when I played soccer and Volleyball and she was very responsive to that and knew all the right workouts and stretches. She kicked my butt with out out hurting me further. So if you are someone who has any kind of back problem or anything really she can work around that! Thank you Alia for your service and pushing me to be my best :)

Gina took a very personal approach when we started our lessons. I suffered from sciatic pain after a lower back/ spasm injury due to a bulging disk so decided to try yoga to help strengthen my lower back and lessen my pain. She was always prepared with different poses to improve my health. She has a true passion for the practice and helping her patients. Gina was in it for the journey with me and I really appreciated that.

Years ago a low back injury brought me to yoga, after many years of practice, trainings and self exploring I've been able to learn and understand how yoga can speed up recovery and improve anyone's life in many different ways. I come from a competitive sports background and I understand how it feels to not feel flexible, I can addapt a yoga practice to any body type. I do have extensive knolwdge in prenatal and postpartum yoga, yoga with baby, toddler and kids but I can offer a healing and mindful practice for any stage in life.
