FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The lesson fees will be covered in my quote to you. If you are quoted a price for a certain length of time, we can discuss different lesson lengths based off of the original price. If I am traveling to you, one hour lessons are generally the minimum.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know your musical goals so that I can help you achieve them! Whether you're looking to play music as a hobby, supplementing your existing music education, or looking to become a professional musician - I'm here to help. After our Thumbtack communication, I like to set up an initial lesson to see if I'm the right teacher for you. If you like what we do, then we can set up weekly lessons and get on a monthly payment plan.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from San Diego State University, a Master of Music in Guitar from The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and I'm currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Music Education from Boston University. As far as professional experience, I have been teaching at San Diego State University since the spring of 2013. I am currently the head of the Guitar Area at SDSU. I have also taught a various music schools since 2002. I play in a guitar duo called The Bassett Bros. and you can find us performing regularly all over San Diego.
