We took a small trip to Carlsbad with 3 other families (with young kids) for my daughter’s 4th birthday. Eating out with 5 kids under 4 would NOT be fun so we decided to do something at the Airbnb, I found Nativa and Co after researching online and we got so lucky! She came up with a great menu for both adults and kids, set up, cleaned and was on time. Food was amazing!! And it was so nice to just not have to worry about dinner time for 1 night. I wished she could live with us…hahah I can’t praise her enough, she was great!!!

Chef Yajaira delivered all the way around. I reached out to her on Thumbtack to cater a 90th birthday party for my MIL. I hired her based on her reviews and I'm glad I did. I wasn't sure what we wanted to do, and Chef gave us three different menus as a base to choose from. They all sounded yummy, but we went with the Italian option. Chef was easy to work with in terms of planning the menu, accommodating vegetarian requests, coordinating details, and answering my many questions about how this catering process works. She was concise and prompt with her responses.
Chef arrived on time after giving me a text heads up on her ETA. She efficiently and professionally went to work getting the meal set up.
All of the food was delicious. My brother-in-law plans on using her for his work catering needs in the future, so that says a lot about the quality of the food. But, not only was the food amazing, the presentation of the food was impressive as well. It made the event more polished.
At the end of the lunch, she cleaned everything up and it was like you never knew she had been there (other than the leftovers, which she put in my containers).
I found Chef's pricing to be well within the range of the various caterers I looked at. I would highly recommend Chef Yajaira and would use her again. Her catering made our event a breeze to prepare for and clean up after. Well worth it. You won't go wrong by hiring Chef Yajaira and Nativa.

I have enjoyed every meal I’ve had from The Native Table! Every week, they offer a protein option, a soup and a salad. They also offer a “lunch box” option with all of the above. The meal options are delicious, varied and it’s so nice not to have to meal prep/think about what’s for dinner. It’s also great to be able to support local. It’s a win win and I look forward to many more tasty meals from The Native Table!

We order their whole menu and we have never been disappointed. There are two of us and each week the meal lasts us two nights of dinners. Everything is so fresh!

Prices are based on the style and ingredients request by the client, we will do our best to work with in a reasonable budget with out compromising flavor or quality of our services.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First Starting with the budget and style of food and service in mind, second to narrow food choices for the menu then details on the guest food preferences etc and third to booked the event/time to lock the date for our availability.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked at a restaurant at age 18 and since then I always been in the food industry, I’m a native Mexican so we always help cooking traditional dishes for our big family. I’ve also worked with a Trained Chef for a couple years who taught me a great deal, I’ve taken cooking clases at Sur the table to gain new skills.
