FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I recommend paying monthly. Not only does this secure your time slot every week, but it also forces you to be consistent. I require 24 hours notice before a cancellation so that you are not being charged as a "No Show." My schedule is very tight and if you can't make it to your lesson and fail to let me know, it's a missed opportunity for someone else to schedule a lesson. For 30 minutes, it's $35. For the first lesson I charge a registration fee of $5.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first month is typically just getting to know your personality and your voice. Every lesson is different for each individual. People have different needs based on what their hang-ups might be with singing. Some people may have a great ear but not a lot of confidence. Some may have a lot of confidence but not a great ear. So my teaching style is largely dependent on the student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Of course, as I said before, I consider myself a lifetime student. I still take lessons to this day and a lot of what I learn, I end up teaching to my students.
