Introduction: I have been around animals (especially dogs and cats) for 25 years. Living the life of a veterinarian's daughter from the age of 5 has taught me many valuable lessons in the animal kingdom and life. When it comes to the pet world, one can learn "how to respond" to certain animals in a certain ways. I have the animal background and the capability to help others to understand their companion and pet. Those who are not so familiar or comfortable with animals, those who are just curious to learn about dogs and cats alike (my main specialty in animals is canines and felines), I am not here to give any veterinary advice, however, I can refer you to some great veterinarians, depending upon the situation or species of the animal. What I can do for you is give you the valuable tools needed to shape yours and your family's relationship with your dog or cat. I have great danes; everyone's first reaction is to their size, but they and most dogs are so much more in depth than that; think about how the chihuahua behaves as opposed to the great dane. It's not always just how the breed generally behaves (which is key in how the training process of your pet will progress), but also equally important in integrating and training your new family member is you and how you will interact with your pet. I can give basic knowledge of typical breed behaviors, how you may be able to help along the process, calm the dog when over-excited, over-whelmed or just possibly unruly. This training is not only going to train your dog, but you. It takes commitment, dedication and love if your pet training is to succeed (and your pet is not the only one in training, in fact it will be you that will be doing most of the training and transforming). Learning how to react to a canine's response(s) will give you most of the knowledge you will need to train your pet to your specific lifestyle (i.e. children in the home, timid behavior and overly-excited). Also, I will bring my great dane to you for various occasions such as introducing children to large dogs (he loves kids and loves to play), introducing those who are weary of dogs or large dogs, how to interact with your pet, family interactions, basic obedience training, and show parties for entertainment with "his" unscripted, but always incredible show (because he just loves to be center stage and loves kids even more).
