What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
10 years + as a recovery professional working as the owner operator of OCDR and now CEO of Data Recovery Man. To perform data recovery successfully you need the right equipment and plenty of years working with hard drives.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Started when I was 14 and received a ZX Sinclair Spectrum computer from my parents.
It had a whopping 16k of memory
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most common are individuals who are looking for personal data (pictures, documents, music etc.) however we recover data for Fortune 500 companies and individuals alike. The same low fixed rates apply to all.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
So many to think of...recovered a large amount of original pictures for a well known OC university. Actually their entire history was on these drives and could have been destroyed but we managed to recover all the data.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
In understanding that failed hard drives have different levels of failure often to give a final price without first looking at the equipment is not possible. At DRM an evaluation of the drive is free and has no obligation to move forward. Beware of companies offering "Starting at" rates.
