Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Patrick has lived an extraordinarily interesting life and it really makes him stand out among other speakers. Patrick first came to national attention his senior year of college. On his way to work at Levi Strauss, he stopped to help a woman on the ground who was pleading. It turned out she was pregnant and he was the only passerby to stop. He stepped forward and delivered her baby right on the street in San Francisco. The story made him front page news, landed him on The Late Show and moved people to laughter and tears. Author Alice Walker wrote him a card saying “You’re a beautiful person.” It was a life changing experience and soon with no mentors, no connections and no book, Patrick left his well paying job to pursue his ambition to inspire others. He persevered through much adversity, including $45,000 of credit card debt, and made it all the way to the Motivational Speaker’s Hall of Fame and an interview with Barbara Walters. Author Tom Peters wrote him a personal note to say, “Love your chutzpah!” At 28, Patrick faced a circumstance most others only dream about - a $95,000.00 banking error in his favor. His “David vs Goliath” adventure made international headlines and this time landed Patrick in the heart of the world news. In the end, Patrick did the unthinkable, and returned the money - which had become rightfully his - in order to “do the right thing.” The Associated Press called him a “Folk Hero.” Recently, Patrick applied his particular brand of inspired living to the world of theater. With no acting background and no theater connections, he set out to make a name for himself with a comedic one-man show. For more than 2 years he overcame rejections and discouragement from theater producers, directors and agents as he tried to hone his skills. His perseverance paid off and triggered a rocket ride. His smash-hit show is one of the funniest, most in-demand presentations in the theater world today and has taken him around the globe and all the way to Off-Broadway. HBO identified him as “One of the funniest new talents in America.” Variety Magazine said “This guys’ got star power!” And TimeOut NY said “Combs has refined his storytelling to an art.”

We're an event driven company that hosts 5 major events a year and I'm always on the look out for a new keynote speaker to bring in to inspire and captivate our members... Over the past 10 years I've easily hired/worked with hundreds of different speakers and have become accustomed to paying anywhere from $50-25k on the high end and $2k on the low end (just for a 1 hour keynote). I share this so you can appreciate that I've pretty much seen it all in this space and if you're considering hiring Patrick there's three things you need to know from our experience with him. He's going to captivate your audience, he's a class act, and a real master at his craft. To find this in one speaker is a true rarity, given the chance, I highly recommend you hire him and see for yourself.

Patrick truly wants to inspire and encourage others to seek and reach their true potential whether it is in their work or daily lives. He is an engaging speaker that keeps you on the edge of your seat to hear and see what will come next. Patrick is one of the most sincere individuals I have ever met. His work is to inspire others, yet he has this amazing way of finding the good and inspiration from those around him; he is like a sponge eager to learn something new and interesting everyday regardless of where he is or who is with. I have only had the pleasure of having him on the campus where I work two times, yet, I consider Patrick a friend... a friend that i am happy to have. He is the real deal! I hope he never retires from being a motivational speaker; he has an outstanding outlook on life and great messages to share. BBeasley Georgia

Patrick was the main speaker for our Professional Development Program Kickoff event on Sept. 27, 2012. More than 800 students in the College of Business at Kansas State University attended his 'Major in Success' 75 minutes lecture. His lecture was a huge hit; students are raving about how huge of an impact this lecture had on their understanding of how to navigate their college career and following their passions. Thanks to Patrick, students are very excited about the upcoming event in our program!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Mostly commonly, I am called on to do: Keynote speeches that motivate, inspire and/or entertain for small groups and large audiences (1000+). I am hired to deliver on my Hall of Fame reputation for wowing audiences. Clients count on me to inspire, motivate, entertain and educate audiences. I'm also called on often to do high challenge/high emotion workshops where teams and groups bond, learn and professionally grow. My most impactful workshop is titled, "The Most Important Board Meeting of Your Life." Participants get clarity about their greatest ambitions and their greatest inner-obstacles and they experience the power they possess to breakthrough and accomplish seemingly impossible things.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Patrick recently took Ireland by storm with his comedic, one man theatre show with two back to back country-wide tours. The high point of the tour was a five night stand in Dublin's finest performance venue, The Olympia Theatre, the venue of choice for superstars such as Adele, Coldplay, Sinead O'Connor, David Bowie, U2. Alone on stage for two hours a night, Patrick held his full house audiences in rapt attention and was received with rave reviews by both critics and audiences alike.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My advice to a customer looking to hire a provider like myself is watch the speaker's videos. Search their website for videos and search YouTube for videos. And watch more than one. A seasoned pro will have many videos for you to look at so you can get a true sense of the speaker. A new speaker will usually have only one highly produced demo video. Also, as with any highly skilled profession, experience counts for almost everything. I'm a far better speaker at 20 years full time than I was at even 10 years full time. Finally, I advise you that if you want your speaker to wow your audience, make sure that they can also entertain with exceptional personal stories and make your audience laugh. My ability to wow an audience is rooted in my years of experience, unforgettable and uplifting personal stories, and attention to every detail that affects how an audience feels.
