Introduction: I'm very meticulous and I have a lot of experience. I'm pretty well versed in a variety of music styles because I've always played in Top 40 bands and because of this I've covered a lot of different music. My college music theory background gives me a lot of knowledge about the fundamentals of music. Also, I have pretty good ears. Playing guitar! Also, it makes me very happy to help students get better at guitar as well as exposing them to different kind of music that they might not have been aware of before.

I am a beginner guitar player. I originally chose Bob as my instructor based on his background and experience. The technique Bob employs makes it easy for me to follow and most importantly LEARN! Bob provides me with practice exercises that not only expand my playing ability as I practice, they also make learning fun! I truly believe Bob is probably the best guitar instructor in the Bay Area and I would highly recommend him to anyone, young or old, who wants to learn any style of guitar.

Bob Carver is teaching our 12 year old son how to play electric guitar. He started at only 10 years old. We were impressed right away with Bob's vast knowledge of music and, specifically, guitar. Our son had never touched a guitar before meeting Bob. Bob had him playing popular riffs in just a few weeks and complete songs in a relatively short time. It was a big confidence builder for our son. Bob is very easy-going, he teaches the music the student wants to learn, and he really knows his stuff !!!

I had my doubts that I would ever be able to play the guitar. I gave Mr. Carver one month to show me that it was possible. That was 2 years ago and I couldn't be happier. Mr. Carver is outstanding. He's been patient, encouraging and extremely helpful. The guy knows his stuff!!!! If you really want to learn to play the guitar - he's the man
