Not only was Mr Lamb a outstanding music teacher he was a really great person with us and our children. Very patient and very responsive to both of them. A really great teacher, thank you clifford.
Neil is very patient with my son and makes sure he has a great time while learning. He is a great music teacher and I recommend him for anyone wanting to learn to play!
Note: This is only based on 1 interaction. Mindy taught my daughter's lesson for 1/2 hour. My daughter needed help with a school piece. Mindy patiently explained musical terms my daughter was unfamiliar with. Mindy asked my daughter questions that made her think. Mindy made sure my daughter was relaxed even when she made mistakes or couldn't answer a question. My daughter seemed to connect well with Mindy by the end of this first lesson. I was thrilled the lesson was 30 minutes (and maybe a couple minutes more) as previous teachers have cut short the lesson time. I liked the room where the lesson was taught because it was large (we're use to cramped studios) and had a lot of air circulation. The location is close enough that I don't have to use the freeway. I really liked the fact that there wasn't another student when we arrived and there wasn't a student when we left. It was really distracting at previous lessons with other teachers when students left their lessons late causing our lesson to start late and students arriving before our lesson was finished. I look forward to seeing my daughter's improvement until Mindy's guidance.
Andi is awesome! Incredibly knowledgeable, very talented, super friendly, making each session easy and comfortable. He's great at adjusting his teaching to your learning speed & style. Andi's positive reinforcement is motivating. He listens as well as he instructs and his studio space is an ideal learning environment for all stages of learning. The handouts, resources, and tools he provides make learning with him that much more convenient and affordable -- all you need is your guitar! He knows more than just how to play, he understands and can teach music theory, adjusting the practical to theory ratio based on your preference and desired outcome as a musician. He is flexible with scheduling as well. I'd recommend him without hesitation.
Garrick's the Best.......He can literally play anything;and he loves music-All music-.And what makes him such a great teacher is that he loves helping you, and seeing you learn whatever it is that you want to learn. He can really inspire you while you're learning;because as he's teaching you,you feel as if he's learned something in the process too. I am an adult with zero music education, I love classical music and decided to start playing piano for pleasure. Acquiring a skill is a project in our busy lives, a piano teacher is a partner in such a project, you need to find the one who would make it work. Finding Stella has been great for me. She is very flexible and dynamic, so far we have been able to schedule regular bi-weekly lessons despite the fact I live in Portland and Berkeley and keep traveling between them. More importantly, Stella is very efficient at utilizing the little time we spend together. She spends half of the lesson time reviewing homework and the rest of the lesson discussing assignment with demos in class. She starts by asking me to exercise my hands at the new assignment in class, she gives comments on posture, hand position and movement of my wrests, fingering and sheet reading. She emphasizes the purpose of the assignment (speed, muscles strengthening ... etc). While I am exercising she is always busy writing notes on my performance and things to watch for and new assignments. *She is super efficient at using the lesson time*. I definitely recommend Stella. I think she can be your partner in your piano project.
Kelly is a very good and enthusiastic teacher. His teaching method is engaging and fun.
I've been taking guitar and singing lessons with David for a few months, and I've got to say I've had a really great time learning from him! David is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable teacher who clearly cares about his students and their goals, and better still has played and performed with the artists that I like best. It took me a while to find a teacher who was willing to teach me the music I wanted to play instead of starting with their core competence, so it was really refreshing that within a month or two with plenty of practice I was able to learn one of my favorite songs (Three Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot, if you're curious), and a little longer to start singing it, which I was really stoked about. He has been great about breaking things down when the piece we're working on is too challenging. David has also pushed me to pursue my goal of creating music, helping along the way to create melodies and lyrics. I have to say, it takes a great teacher to get me to sing and to share lyrics with them (do you know how embarrassing that can be?). I could go on, but suffice it to say, David is a great teacher, and I'm really glad I started taking lessons with him.
Sarah has worked with me on my songwriting including helping me put my songs to music. She is a wonderful teacher, patient, kind and incredibly supportive. On top of her teaching skills, she is clearly talented at what she does. She was really able to help me create music for songs I was stuck on and come up with lyrics that expressed what I wanted to say. If you're looking for a great music coach she's your girl!
Been singing for many years and surprised to still be learning so much. Juan is quite professional and disciplined. He identifies where you need work and starts with fundamentals. You can't fake it with him; he'll know! I recommend going into it with a clear goal and he'll design a program for you.
Ann Souren's attention to detail, understanding of the human body, and ability to tailor her method to any student makes her an extremely valuable teacher. As a music studio owner, I never hesitate to refer artists her way as I know they will be in the best of professional hands. Having also learned with Ann hands on myself, I am truly impressed with the system and method she has created and the results they have yield. I do not know one student who has left unsatisfied and recommend anyone interested in singing or improving their current singing to the next level to go try her out!
Laura is an exceptional piano teacher that has touched my children's lives in many wonderful ways. They both became accomplished pianists, able to play any piece and compose their own music, from having her as their teacher. She earned the kid's respect early on and therefore they always looked forward to their lessons and never complained about practicing. Her sense of humor and her caring advice always left the kids with a smile of their face as they left her house from a lesson. Laura is a treasure; a true gem!
Learning from Ken was great! He is very enthusiastic about teaching music. I will highly recommend him to anyone.
Liz does an amazing job of pinpointing areas that need work in the voice. She's also given me several exercises that have really helped to develop my voice further. Super great teacher with a ton of good experience! Exactly what I needed
Marla is a great teacher and really fun to work with! In just a few weeks my technique improved tremendously and singing class has become the highlight of my week!
Andre is a really enthusiastic and creative teacher that seems to tailor his lessons to you as an individual. I am relatively new to the drums and he has been very positive in critiques and sets good weekly goals. His style of teaching the basics while also giving you what you need to really get moving and grooving as a drummer works for me very well. Stoked to keep taking lessons with him!
Alison is very patient and makes learning music fun and expressive for our kids. She's really flexible with scheduling, too!
I played piano for a few years before I started playing with Eteri. Eteri is the best piano teacher I've ever had and really helped me get serious about my piano playing and actually start practicing. She makes the lessons enjoyable for every student, so the students learn to appreciate music. The recitals twice a year are really fun. You get to hear what kids from different age groups are playing and hang out with them. Everyone is pretty close and its a wonderful enviroment. If you need a piano teacher, I extremely suggest Eteri.
Joe Is a very passionate and accomplished musician and drum instructor. I was very lucky to have found Joe as a teacher for my daughter. It was important to me to that my daughter play by learning to read the music for drumming not just play by ear, Joe not only provides that but also instructs her on how to conduct herself as a serious drummer and with his instruction has helped to build her confidence. What my daughter has learned through Joe far exceeds the things that she has learned through her high school music programs.
My daughter spent a few months withJaymee and already people comented that she sounds amazing. She just nailed her school musical!!!
I know, I know, 5 star review and all qualities being excellent may sounds unrealistic, but such thing exist. I knew he is a great, versatile performer who can traverse many genres. Having said that, not all the great performers are great teachers. But Vince is always looking to improve himself and further his knowledge and skills, and for this reason I decided to study with him. I like what I get, A lot. He is able to meet me where I am, and made the lesson very accessible but challenging enough. Instead of me just observing how great he can play, he lets me be in the spotlight (so to speak - students need to feel that for enthusiasm!). And I come out of the class feeling excited, being able to play more.
